Re: Can I write UPSC exams in Kannada medium?

    Dear Friend,
-There is no provision to write the exams conducted by the UPSC in Kannada medium.
-As there exists a lots of local languages,it is not possible for the UPSC to conduct the exams in all regional languages.
-The two languages you can opt for, while writing the UPSC exams are either ENGLISH or HINDI,as English is more frequent and used to all.On the other hand Hindi is the national language of India.
-You can opt for Kannada language only as the optional subject in Language, during the Mains exams of the Civil Services conducted by the UPSC,where along with the optional language subject, you opt for two other subjects which carry 1200 marks.
-Hence,You are recommended to start your preparations henceforth,in English or Hindi,as you will have no other options left with.

    Dear pal,
    • UPSC exam is held every for various post that is available in the central government. The selection process for any post includes screening process.
    • For any exam the papers are available in two medium the one being International language that is use for communication by almost all people i.e English, the other being the National language which is Hindi
    • There is no other medium in which the exam papers are available. So you need to prepare in either of the languages.
    • But you can appear in Kannada Language paper which is available as a optional paper in the Civil service exam if you prefer

Re: Can I write UPSC exams in Kannada medium?

    Dear Friend,

UPSC Prelims exam is conducted only in English or Hindi.
So you have choose from the above 2 languages to write in prelims.

In Main examination you can choose Kannada as your Language Paper but other papers you have to write in either English or Hindi.

You cannot write all the papers of this UPSC examination in Kannada Medium.
Because UPSC Examination is conducted in through out this nation to select the best candidates for higher government department who are ready to work anywhere in this nation.
So it will be difficult if every candidate starts giving their exam in their medium which makes it difficult for them to work outside of their state.
So You can choose Kannada as medium to write Language paper but all the other papers you have choose between English and Hindi.
    Hope it answers your query.

    All the best.

    Regards.
