There is Three ways to get into IPS!
    1. Clear the UPSC exams conducted every year. But you need to get good mark to get rank high enough to get you IPS.
    2. Joined State police service conducted by respective State PSC and then get promotion after some 15 years in service.
    3. Get into Army as captain, Paramilitary Force as Asst. Commandant or State police force as DSP and sit for Deparmental IPS exam conducted by UPSC after you complete 5 years in service. Of course you should be below 35 years. (UPSC is conducting this exam from 2012)
