civil service is the entrance exam conduct by upsc once in year to recruit aspirants into IAS,IPS,civil services,IRS etc of government sector

2)CS MAINS =means civil service main exam,it is conducted for those who who has cleared the CSAT

CSAT is the prelims examination of the main civil services examination.
There are three stages of the civil services examination.
1. Prelims
2. Mains
3. Interview
You need to clear all the stages in order to get through with the civil services.
If you do not clear the prelims examination, then you wont be allowed to sit for the mains examination.
The CSAT paper is the objective paper whereas the CS mains exam is of subjective type
CSAT is totally different from the civil services mains examination because in the civil services examination consists of two stages in which CSAT and MAINS are the stages.
In CSAt civil services aptitude test there will be 2 papers in the begining and both will consist of 200 marks and general studies will be the topic for the same.
After that when you clear the CSAT then you will be called for the MAINS examination.
In the mains there will be 9 papers and all of the examination are the toughest.

Eligibility criteria for the Civil services examination-
Age should be 21 to 30 years of age.
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for the same.
Age relaxation for the civil services examination is as follows-
SC/ST 5 years.
OBC 3 years.
Ex servicemen 5 years.
Disabled defence officer in army during war for commissioned officer 3 years of age relaxation.
Examination pattern-
CSAT stands foir the civil services aptitude test which is the first stage of the examination. It consist of 2 papers and both general studies of 400 marks total.
MAINS examination is if you qualify the examination CSAT then called for the Mains examination.
There will be 9 papers of 2000 marks .
By qualifying the same candidates are called for the interview.
Interview consist of 300 marks.

CSAT is conducted by the UPSC for the civil services.
CSAT is the entrance exam for getting entry in to the Civil service Mains exam.
You must have to clear the Civil service mains exam if you want to join the civil services.
For this you must have a graduate degree from a recognized university and your age must be lies in between 21-30 years.
You must be Indian.
