Hi,

If your Interested to Join in Indian Army Academy than After 12th standard than you may apply for NDA Examination which is Conducted by Union Public Service Commission .

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this Examination is Conducted by Union Public Service Commission .

12th standard is the Basic Educational Qualification to apply for NDA Examination.

Any stream candidates are eligible to apply for this Examination .

Final year candidate may also eligible to apply for this Examination . No Minimum Percentage of mark require for this Examination .

your age should be 16.5 years to 19 years .

Unmarried Male candidates Only eligible for this Examination .

You should be Physically Fit according the rules of the NDA Examination .

So, After Completing 12th standard you may apply for NDA Examination .

>> IMA Stands for Military Academy Examination and this examination is comes under the Combined Defence Service Examination . This examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year . Graduate degree candidates or appearing in the final year candidates are eligible to apply for this examination .

First i have to inform that 11th candidates are ineligible to apply for Indian Army examination . Only Pass out candidates or appearing in the intermediate final examination candidates are eligible to apply . So If you are appearing in the final year of Intermediate then you are eligible to apply . If you are not completed 12th examination then you are not eligible to apply for Indian Army examination .

If you want to join Indian Army then you need to crack the 10+2 TES examination OR NDA Examination . So first finish your intermediate then apply for these examination . 10+2 TES Examination is conducted twice in a year by Indian Army .

To apply for TES examination then you have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria :-

~~ You have a physics , chemistry and mathematics as subjects at Intermediate from a recognized School or University and have attained the minimum 75% aggregate marks in your examination . Age must have a minimum 16.5 - 19.5 years and Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible .

To apply for NDA Examination then you have to satisfy the following eligibility criteria :-

~~ You have to holding the 10+2 School Education with any discipline from a recognized School or University and No minimum marks required for this examination . Final year students are eligible to apply for this examination . Age must have a minimum 16.5 - 19 years and Only Unmarried male candidates are eligible .

to join IMA through UPSC you can apply either for

National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA/NA)
OR
Combined Defense Services Examination (CDS)

as far as NDA is concerned
you can't apply for it !!!! as you do not have mathematics as a subject in 12th.
for this exam you need to pass or appear in 12th with maths and english as subject.

but don't worry you can still join IMA through CDS exam after clearing the eligibility criteria to join IMA .

for IMA(Indian Military Academy) student should have passed Graduation from a recognized university under ugc.
age limit to join IMA 19-24 years
OBC and SC/ST category gets an age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively

final year students can also eligible to apply for this exam

~~Age limits should be between 16.5 years and 19 years .

~~There is no relaxation .


PHYSICAL CRITERIA:-
-- CANDIDATE MUST BE PHYSICALLY FIT.
--Minimum height required-157c.m for men & 152 c.ms for women with correlated weight.

--Your chest should be well developed. The minimum range of expansion after full inspiration should be 5 cm.
--Eye Sight:- 6/24, 6/24 correctable to 6/6 in each eye with glasses for tech branch & Submarine Cadre and 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6, 6/12 with glasses for the Naval Architecture Cadre.

Eligibility Criteria for I.M.A in CDS :-
Age should be between 19 years and 24 years and only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
Graduation in any desire subject from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.
Basic eligibility required for NDA are:
- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
-only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
-candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.
- Age : From 19 Years to 24 years. Engineer graduates 20 to 27 years
- Degree. BA, B.Sc or B.Tech/BE

for IMA candidate must have to clear the CDS exam which is conducted by the upsc

exam date 16-09-2012


candidate can also get information regarding the notifications from the UPSC website or from the employment news papers.


if a candidate is in HSC class then the candidate can apply for the NDA exam after passing his/her 12th class.

At present u cannot apply for IMA exam but u can surely apply for it after completing ur graduation in any stream from any recognised college.

If you are interested to join I.M.A. then first complete your +2 first.
I.M.A. means Indian military academy.
It is one the wings of Indian defense service.
To join in I.M.A. you have to apply for N.D.A. exam.
N.D.A. stands for National Defense academy.
This exam is conducted by U.P.S.C.

To join IMA you can opt for CDS or NDA conducted by UPSC

Physical standard required are:

1. The candidate must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease
2. The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms. For Women candidates minimum acceptable height is 152 cms.
3. There should be no disease of bones and joints of the body.
4. The hearing should be normal
5. A male candidate should be able to read 6/6 in a distant vision chart with each eye with or without glasses. For women candidates the minimum acceptable visual acuity are Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse 6/18.
6. A candidate should be able to recognise red and green colours
7. Presence of Squint is a disqualification
8. Candidate should not stammer while speaking
