Will they recruit people based on marks? dear you can prepare well while studying in final year, just manage you time for studies, select a time in which you will study only for the preparation of time, try to start your preparation with NCERT books then make a time table for that time period and include every subjects in it and give appropriate time to each subjects , solve more and more practice papers . good luck

Dear Aspirant If you are starting the preparation for the exam first time Then you need that your basics should be clear And first you have to purchase some good books for the exam And as g.k and english are compulsory subjects so you have To study these subjects and for English you have to read the R.S Aggarwall Book And for the g.k Read the Ncert book of history ,geography,economics of 8th to 10th And after that take help from the lucent g.k book And even can read daily news paper that's the best way Also choose the optional subjects first Means decide first the optional subjects that you are going to choose And start working on those subjects And make a time table and do proper time to each subject and the second answer for your question is Upsc is recruiting on the basis of cut off If you have cleared the exam and then on the merit basis They will give you the post and place Best of luck

Will they recruit people based on marks? no there is no such criteria. to write UPSC exam one must ~~~ have bachelor degree from recognized university ~~~ age limit 21-30 yrs ~~~ Indian citizen collect syllabus of which exam you are going to give collect study materials regarding syllabus give 3-4 hrs/day for UPSC preparation update current affairs, hot topics time management & dedication are important all the best

English Grammar 2. Essay writing (read Editorial Columns of dailies) 3. General Studies (NCERT books from class viii to xii) 4. current Affairs- News papers, Competition Refresher etc. 5. For Optional Subjects- Read Degree level all books. don't refer many books for a single topic, just clear your concept.

Will they recruit people based on marks? start improving your basic konowledge in your choosed optionals,collect study material either ownself or from some correspondance courses. 1. read NCERT books for GENERAl studies 2.read magazines/newspaper for NO ,there is no such criteria put up by the UPSC to allow candidates on the marks basis in their graduation to appear for the CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION HOWEVER later on final selection is based on the (PRELIMS+MAINS+PERSONALITY TEST) marks = MERIT ORDER for short listing of candidtes in available vacancies according to their preferences.
