general studies-paper1

mains(subjective);-

optional subject-1 and 2 papers
optional subject-1 and 2 papers

total 9 papers

pattern of civil services:
1) General studies:
questions Indian History-more importance on indian national movement ie after 1850s
Indian polity and constitution
Economy
general science
current events of national and international importance- this si the most important part nearly 30% questions asked every year
In current trend, more questions are asked on environment and ecology- in 2011 prelims 23 questions from this topic
paper 2:
In CSAT 2011 - more questions on ENglish
2012- reasoning and ENglish given importance

You firstly, mention the type of examination that you want to appear. Because the the question pattern varies from examination to examination like in the CMS, You can face the medical related questions, similarly in the Geologist services. so it will be better to mention the name of the examination that you want to appear, then I can help you.
