yes my dear friend , civil engineering is one of the branches amongst the 4 branches of engineering which are eligible for giving the indian engineering services examination.
For giving the IES exam, it is compulsory for you to be a graduate in any of the following engineering streams-
1. Mechanical engineering
2. Electrical engineering
3. Civil engineering
4. ECE.
Moreover the age limit for giving this exam is 21-30 years and there is a relaxation given to the obc and the sc/st category students respectively.

The number of vacancies filled every year by IES is maximum for Civil engineers.You can definitely apply for Engineering services after Civil engineering.The age limit should be 21-30years and you should have a valid and recognised B.Tech/BE degree.You will have 5papers of 200 marks each.1st paper is of GS and Current Affairs.2nd day you will have 2 papers objective civil engineering.3rd day you will have 2 papers subjective engineering.After you qualify in all these papers you will be called for interview and then final selection.Check out website of UPSC for previous papers etc to get the level of exam

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services officer and to become IPS Officer you have to complete your Graduate degree course first, Because graduation is the minimum Eligibility Criteria to apply for Civil services examination of UPSC to become IES Officer.

But you have completed your 12Th examination. So you are Not eligible for Civil services examination now. Please complete your Graduation degree course first and then apply for this examination.

To apply for this examination you must have attained the age of 21 years and Not attained the age of 30 years, Upper age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates.

So, You have to study 3 more year and have to complete your Graduation and then you can appeared for Civil services examination.

This exam is conducted by UPSC board to find the best and skilled engineering in India under the central government and after being selected in IES you would be responsible for various types of constructions and works which are announced by the government related to engineering.

IES Stands for Indian Engineering Service Examination and this examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission Once in a year . This examination is conducted only for Engineering candidates and specific branches are eligible to apply :-

-Civil Engineering
-Mechanical Engineering

-Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering .

and M.Sc candidates are eligible to apply for IES exam but some special Subjects only eligible .

To apply for Engineering Service , you should have a completed engineering degree with fair percentage or equivalent qualification .

Category 1- Civil Engineering
Category 2- Mechanical Engineering
Category 3- Electrical Engineering
Category 4- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering


And Examination are conducted in their parent Branch.
For IES 2012 the last date to apply is 10-03-12

Their are two part to be filled Part I registration and Part II registration After filling part I generate the pay slip and pay the fees in bank and then complete the part II registration.
