To become an IAS Officer you have appear/clear the prestigious Civil Services Exam(CSE).
    CSE
is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.
    After clearing
CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc based on your rank in the Final Merit list.

    It is conducted in
3 stages viz. 1.Prelims/CSAT Exam-is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam.It consists of 2 papers
of General Studies of 200 marks each.
2.Mains Exam-is conducted to test the indepth knowledge and intellegence of candidates.Choice of 2
Optional Subjects have to be made and 2 papers of each subject prepared. It consists of 9 papers and 2000 marks.
3.Interviews-is the test of personality and is of total 300 marks. It is the final round and clear it to secure a good rank
in the Final Merit List to get good posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,etc.

You can graduate in science or arts stream according to your convinience.
Minimum educational qualifiction required is graduation in any stream from a UGC recognised University.
Choosing Arts stream might help in preparing for CSAT/Prelims Exam to some extent only.
You can choose subjects like political science, history, geography, economics, sociology, engl ish, etc.

To get selected in your 1st attempt you should start your preparation and work hard.
Clear your Basic concepts first by reading NCERT Books from school level.Study for 6-8hrs daily.
Then you should make up your mind about optional subjects and gain indepth knoweledge on the
optional subjects. For the interviews you should concentrate on personality development.
You should try to brush up your interpersonal skills, communication skills, develop good body language,
participate in mock group discussions, develop leadership qualities, patience and keep cool attitude in stressful situations, etc.

Re: With which subject should I do graduation if I want to become an IAS in future?

Dear there is no problem about the degree or course or subject in graduation because UPSC board did not decide any particular subject or does not demand for any special subject to apply for IAS officer exam and UPSC board required following eligibility criteria to apply for Civil Services Exams :

    1. Candidate should posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university

    2. Age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines

    3. 5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years upper age relaxation for OBC category

    4. 10 years upper age relaxation for PWDs and 5 years upper age relaxation for Ex-Servicemen

    5. Upper age relaxation for Widow, Divorced and Separated female candidates as per government rules

You can choose any degree or any course or any subject to complete your graduation between following :

    BA, B.Com, B.Sc, BBA, BBM, BCA, BE, B.Tech, B.V.Sc, B.F.Sc, etc.

You should prepare for the IAS exam with your degree or graduation so that you could be prepared well till the completion of your graduation and you could be able to qualify the prelims at once and after qualifying the prelims exam you will get at least 5 months of time to prepare for mains exam and you can prepare well for your mains exam and after qualifying mains you will get the chance to face an Interview process which would be the last step of your preparation and if you qualify the interview then you will become an IAS officer.

    All the best
