Complete Selection Procedure for IAS Officer post : Dear for your kind information that IAS stands for - Indian Administrative Service and IAS officer post is the highest administrative post in all over entire India means there is no one who is bigger than IAS officer and IAS officers are selected through very tough procedure by UPSC - Union Public Service Commission by following this following selection procedure : There are three steps in the complete selection procedure of the IAS officer post which are following as but before that we should have the eligibility criteria to apply for IAS officer exam under the UPSC civil services : >> Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university >> Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen candidates and relaxation for widow, divorced, separated female candidates as per government guidelines If you have above mentioned qualification then you may apply for UPSC IAS exam 1. Preliminary Exam : This is the first step to face in IAS exam and there would be 2 papers conducted under this step which would be conducted in objective type format and each paper has equal 200 marks, qualifying in this preliminary exam is most necessary to reach to the next step. 2. Mains Examination : This is the second step to face in this exam and you will have to appear for 9 various papers which would be conducted only in conventional format and papers are following : 1. General English - 300 marks 2. Any Indian Language - 300 marks 3. Essay - 200 marks 4. General Studies I - 300 marks 5. General Studies II - 300 marks 6. Any selected subject - paper I - 7. Any selected subject - paper II - Both paper I and II has 300 marks 8. Any optional subject - paper I - 9. Any optional subject - paper II - Both paper I and II has 300 marks total marks for mains exam - 2000 marks for complete 9 papers After qualifying the prelims exam you would be offered to choose any two subjects from the list of the subjects of UPSC board and you may choose any two subjects to prepare for your mains exam which are following : 1. Agriculture 2. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science 3. Anthropology 4. Botany 5. Chemistry 6. Civil Engineering 7. Commerce and Accountancy 8. Economics 9. Electrical Engineering 10. Geology 11. Geography 12. History 13. Law 14. Management 15. Mathematics 16. Mechanical Engineering 17. Medical Science 18. Philosophy 19. Physics 20. Political Science and International Relations 21. Psychology 22. Public Administration 23. Sociology 24. Statistics 25. Zoology Last and Final Step - Interview Process : This would be your final step in the selection of IAS post and you would only be called for interview process when you will clear all preliminary and mains exam and candidates are called on the basis of marks in mains exam and there is no part of the marks of prelims exam in the mains exam and the final selection would be done on the basis of your mains exam marks and interview marks, Interview Process has 300 separate marks so the complete grand total for the selection is - 2000+300 = 2300 If you successfully qualify the interview process and comes under top 50 IAS selections then you would be sent for IFS - Indian Foreign Service Post and minimum and medium ranking candidates would be selected for various posts as - Collector and Indian Revenue Officer etc. Guidelines to get success in exam and interview process : >> If you are going to the coaching institute then it is good for your career and you can get that what you want but your coaching should be good according to the study for IAS exam >> You should also give some time for your study after the coaching classes and must give at least 8 hours from your side for study after the coaching >> Concentrate only where the coaching institute and teacher focus you and do not get involve in any other coaching institute if you consider your coaching is best >> Purchase some reputed and good books of famous publishers which are available in market and take some practice sets - online and offline too >> To prepare for your mains exam you will have to practice to write some good topics everyday and you should collect some previous years mains exam papers and other state service papers then prepare hard >> If you qualify the prelims and mains both then you should go to prepare for your interview in your coaching and present yourself in front of the coaching faculty so you could increase your confidence >> If you go to any successful IAS officers or those officers who have been selected through State Service Commission then they may also guide you well for interview >> You must collect more and more knowledge for your interview process and be confident and be more aware about your - study subject, hobbies and other things which you will fill in your Call Letter >> Do not forget to remember the GOD because GOD is everything and they are almighty, superior and superlative and only they may help you to get selected All the very best

Hello Dear, Selection procedure to become an IAS officer:- To become an IAS officers candidate must have to crack the CSAT exam. CSAT exam is conducted by UPSC. In CSAT exam there are three stage 1. prelim exam 2. Main Exam 3. Interview prelim exam are the basic exam which is held in the month of may in every year. mains exam are the exam on 2nd stage only those candidate can give this exam who clear prelim exam in that year. next and last stage is interview stage. for interview only those candidate are eligible who clear the above two stage in that year. IAS: Indian Administrative services this service exam.is conducted by Union public Service commission.Procudures are:- 1.Education: Minimum graduation from a recognized University in any discipline. 2.Age:Gen: 21-30.OBC: 21-33 years.S.C/S.T: 21-35 years. 3.Nationality:INDIAN.Male/Female both can apply. 4.Attempts:Gen/Obc can avail max.4/7 attempts' respectively.S/C & S.T: No limit. The selection procedure is complete in three step.... 1) priliminary exam 2) main exam 3) interview The marks contain by the evry step is priliminary exam - 300 main exam - 2000 interview - 200 If you complete there three step then you selected for IAS. The qulification is complete greduation with any reconize university. The no. of attemp this exam is For sc/st - no limit For obc - 7 for gen. - 4

CSE is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts. After clearing CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc. Based on your rank in the Final Merit list you will get these services/posts. Selection Procedure CSE is conducted in 3 stages/levels by UPSC: 1.Prelims/CSAT Exam-CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test.It consists of 2 papers of General studies of 200 marks each i.e.total marks for CSAT Exam is 400 marks.It is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains Exam of CSE.Only candidates successful in the CSAT Exams are moved to the second stage of CSE i.e. Mains exam. 2.Mains Exam-is conducted to test the indepth knowledge and intellegence of the candidates.It consists of total 9 Papers and 2000 marks is the total weightage of Mains exams.Two Optionals subjects have to be chosen at this stage and 2 Papers of each subject prepared.After clearing the Mains Exams you will get an interview call. 3.Interviews-is the test of Personality of candidates and is of 300 marks.It is the final stage of selection for CSE. after this a Merit List is prepared based on the overall performance of the candidates and posts allotted accordingly. Civil Services Exam is conducted in three phase and you have to clear all the three phases. Three Phases of Civil Services Exam:CSATMainsInterview CSAT is conducted for checking the eligibility of the candidates for Mains Exam.Candidates who clears the CSAT exams are eligible to apply for Mains Exam. If you clears the Mains Exam then you are called for Interview. After Interview you are appointed for the post. you will get the post according to your ranking. Hello, Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS. Civil Services Exam is conducted in 2 stages: 1. Preliminary Examination � comprising of 2 exams � General Studies and CSAT 2.
