Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

    Hi
Dear friend, in order to appear in the civil services examination conducted by the upsc, no specific percentage marks are required in order to sit in the examination.
For giving the exam, you just need to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years.
In graduation, even the student who has 33% marks is eligible for giving the examination.
The age limit for the obc category is 21-33 years and the age limit for the sc/st category is 21-35 years.

Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

    Hello my dear Friend ...

    No friend

You need not get 60% or above 60% in your Academics

Because THERE IS NO SUCH RULES ACCORDING TO THE U.P.S.C

There is no percentage criteria to be eligible

You must have a minimum of Graduation from a recognized university

The stream might be any one

So YOU MUST HAVE JUST PASSED THE QUALIFYING EXAMINATION

The minimum age must be 21 years

Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years

For OBC -- Maximum age is 33 years

For SC / ST -- Maximum age is 35 years

You must be Physically good and well

So having no doubt try to apply for the exam

    GOOD LUCK

Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

Well it is not so that you should have 60% marks in your graduation for writing any UPSC exams.

UPSC stands for Union Public Service Comission.

    Attachment 14928

    They conduct various exams like

    + IPS Attachment 14929

    + IAS Attachment 14930

    + CDS Attachment 14931

    + NDA Attachment 14932 etc

For all these exams there is no specific marks is required just pass mark is sufficient.

However the eligible criteria differs ,basically you must be an Indian to write these exams.

Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

Friend, please note that# It is observed that large number of candidates have the lot of misconceptions regarding UPSC Examination.# Majority of candidates asked similar questions regarding minimum percentage marks required for UPSC Examination in degree level and 10+2 level.# Let me clear that there is no any need of any percentage marks in any UPSC Examination.# Only pass marks are enough for all UPSC Examinations.# Civil Service Examination is most popular and competitive examination of UPSC.# Degree in any stream from recognised university is required for Civil Service Examination.# Age limit criteria: * 21 years is the minimum age fixed for all categories. * 30 years is the maximum age fixed for General category. * 33 years is the maximum age fixed for OBC category. * 35 years is the maximum age fixed for SC/ST category. * 40 years is the maximum age fixed for PWD category.# Also there is provision of fixation of specific number of attempts separately for every category: * General category can make only four attempts * OBC category can make only seven attempts. * SC and ST categories can make any number of attempts as they have no any limit.

One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream, that person is eligible to write civil services exam.

age should be 21-30 years for the candidate.

so, if you pass graduation, then you can write civil services exam.

    Hello

    NO THIS IS NOT TRUE.

The sole criteria that is prescribed by the UPSC is that the candidates must have a degree in any stream from any recognized university in terms of educational qualification and there is no minimum percentage required to apply for the candidates.

The UPSC exams has no issues with the percentage of the students, each and every exam that is conducted by the UPSC requires percentage. When you apply for the UPSC exams just never get worry regarding the percentage of the degree.

Even the exams that is conducted by UPSC for school level candidates like NDA,SCRA do not have any percentage requirement,so when you come to apply for UPSC exams the percentage can be left over.

Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

No dear, its not compulsory. Even UPSC never set any such type of required marks in any of their exams as I know. Generally they need Graduation pass Candidates only, who fulfill there other conditions such as age limit, educational qualification etc.

For Civil Services one has to Pass Graduation, only. But its good if you score good marks in your Graduation because it helps in your preparation of Civil Services.... So, Good Luck...and do your best....

Re: Is it compulsory to have 60% in degree to be eligible for Civil Services exam of UPSC?

    No sir
it is not compulsory for the 60%
marks in the graduation. upsc required
only graduation passed candidate in any
    stream from the recognized university.
so don't worry if you have less than
60% marks you are also eligible for the
exam. if you appear in the final year
then also you appear in the exam.
    all the best......

    My Dear Aspirant

Well No it is not compulsory to score 60% marks

In your graduation to write the upsc exam

As this totally a false news

As per the criteria from the upsc

The candidate must be pass in the graduation from

    A recognized indian university

As their is no specific percentage is required to write the upsc exam

Also the age criteria is 21-30 and for the obc 21-33

And for the sc/st it is 21-35

And their is no need to worry as no specific % is required

    Best of luck
