Hi Aspirant,

It is good that you are keen interested about your career and want to start preparation from now.

In real candidates who want to be appear for civil service exam should start the preparation from this age.

So that after graduation you could give a proper shape to your study and preparation.

In this age you have need to cover GS portion.

You should be aware about current affairs, study competitive magazine like Pratiyogita Darpan.

GS Portion is very broad, it has no limit and it can�t be covered in short preparation.

You can do graduation in any stream according to your interest.

You should choose optional subject of your interest and if this subject would be in your graduation will be better for you.

~Its good to see a fire in you to crack the Civil Service Exams straight after your 10th board exams.Its always beneficial to choose your goal in earlier stages of life.
~These exams are conducted by the UPSC every year,for the enrollment of citizens in the highest civilian posts.
~I personally would recommend you to opt for ARTS STREAM after your class 10th if you are so determined.
~The arts Stream would keep you in good knowledge of the Vital subjects such as the INDIAN HISTORY,GEOGRAPHY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION and POLITICAL SCIENCE.
~These subjects are present in the list of optional subjects for the Mains exams of the Civil Services.Also these subjects are highly scoring and thereby even the Non-Arts subjects opt for these.
~The success rate of these subjects as compared to other subjects has been much higher in the past years.
~Also,the ARTS social subjects form the backbone of the Paper-1 of the preliminary exams.You can keep pace with all preparations for both the Mains and Preliminary exams together.This hands you a double advantage,and saves time in a better way.
~~If you are determined to reach your goal,and work hard,then there is no reason why you won't succeed.

dear friend,

for civil services you have to complete your graduation.
in civil Services subjects are related to ARTS like History, Geography, Philosophy,Psychology,Geology. so i recommend you to choose arts stream and do graduation.

for preparation of Civil Services Exam study 6th to 12th NCERT books.
Continuous reading news papers and Magazines and increase your GK. also keep solving previous year question papers.

Dear friend,you want to serve our Country as a Civil Servant . Follow these points:- 1. After 10th don't give up to read books from class VII to X. Read each and every day because this will help you to prepare General Studies Paper for UPSC Exam 2. Read NCERT Books. 3. If you choose Arts Stream, it willbenefit you for your Civil Services Exam. Because, these subjects are easy to learn and clear your concepts. whose eligibilty criteria are1.university graduate of any stream either in final year/passed out with 55% in graduation2. age limit within 20-25 years relaxation in the upper age limit,of 3 years for the OBCsand5 years for the SC/STs.3.CDSE (for recruitments in three armed forces of indian union)exam conducted bi-annuallyin which age should be within 18-25 yrs.& one must be university graduate from recognised university.best of luck

it is good thinking. and the best time after the to perpetration the exam .

it is good time and there is no extra burden on your brain then easily u prepare the exam.

for the general study u read the history book. newspaper for daily updation. through media, internet and other sources available in the market.

one thing more when u entered in the graduation pls take which university which is approved by the upsc. that is helpful for u for the future.

dear its very good thinking yes why not , u can start your study after 10 but more focus in your 10 study because for civil service u have 5-6 yers till graduation so keep in mine when u have extra time then read your subject books which u opt in exam .

TAKE PCM along ( with biology as an optional subject if you can),PCM will maximize your chances in UPSC EXAMS aFTER YOU HAVE DONE GRADUATiON either in engineering from some recognised university or bysome other science graduates are also got chances to their qualification besides that UPSC also conducts some examination irrespective of streams like civil services,CPF etc.

preparation tips

make habit of
> reading two good level competitive magazines like compeptition success review,prtiyogita darpan,frontline for the current affairs.
> purchase a good ATLAS,learn it heartly.
>order correspondance study material (though it is optional upto you).
try to solve modal test paper of previous year within time bound examination situation & try to improve accordingly in your grey area's.





some examination 's and their eligibility which are conducted by upsc through out academic year just after your 10+2

1.special class railway apprentices (physics,maths compulsory) once in a year.
2.NDA for recuiting inn three armed forces irrespective of stream bi-annually age must be within 16.5-19 yrs.


after you graduation:-

you can appear for the examinations

1.civil services examination (for IAS,IPS)

whose eligibility criteria are :
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
You must be a citizen ofIndia,

or, You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.


You must be of 21 to 30 years of age. HOWEVER,there is a relaxation in the upper age limit,
of 3 years for the OBCs
and
5 years for the SC/STs.


You must have completed your Graduation orEquivalent,from a recognized university under any
stream,or be a final year student in the same

The number of attempts is 4 for a General category student,
7 for an OBC candidate,and
unlimited for a SC/ST candidate,until he fulfills the age criteria

2. central police force (CPF) held once every year

whose eligibilty criteria are

1.university graduate of any stream either in final year/passed out with 55% in graduation

2. age limit within 20-25 years relaxation in the upper age limit,

congrats for your 98%.
take science stream i.e PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, MATHS, BIOLOGY. in 11th & 12th.
study well. get this same or higher percentage in 12th.
you must be strong in basics that is your science subjects & maths.
also regularly update your gk, hot national & international issues. make a note of it.

after 12th also you can apply for UPSC exams like
NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY
SPECIAL CLASS RAILWAY APPRENTICE EXAM

otherwise do you higher studies. complete your graduate then apply for
CIVIL SERVICE EXAM
INDIAN FOREST SERVICE
INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE (only for civil/mech/electrical/electronics & telecommunications engineering)
COMBINED DEFENCE SERVICE
CENTRAL POLICE FORCE
COMIBNED MEDICAL SERVICE (only for MBBS)

also develop your English knowledge by reading magazines, newspapers,watching news,

Well dear your thinking is very good

And good to see a good student wants to serve for the country

But dear first you have to complete your 12th first then while doing graduation

You have to start preparing for upsc exam

Also dear while studying in 11th or 12th you can prepare

Subjects like general studies and topics like indian history

And current affairs, geogrophy

Because it carry 150 marks in upsc pre exam

Also start preparing for optional subject

Which you want to choose in upsc exam in graduation

And work hard on optional subject in 12th also

if you are taking the pcm stream in class 11 and study regulary the. english newspaper for current affair,gk and maths.
after 12 fill upsc form surely u will pass the exam.

I have completed my 10th standard with flying colors securing 98% of marks. I am interested to serve my country as a civil servent. Please give me the guidelines for preparation. I promise to follow them.
