Dear i have posted the complete solution of your query which is following :

Examination Pattern for Civil Service Examination 2013 and complete selection procedure 2013 :

    1. Preliminary Examination : This is the first step of your civil service examination and the preliminary exam has 2 papers which are as - General Studies - I and General Studies - II with CSAT and each paper would be conducted in objective type pattern for 200 marks means 400 marks for both papers.

Important notice : Qualifying in this exam is necessary to reach to the next step

    2. Mains Examination : This is the second step of your civil service exam and there would be 9 papers conducted in this mains exam and every paper would be conducted in conventional type pattern and you would be offered o choose any two subjects from the following list and pattern of 9 papers is also following :

    1. Any Indian Language - 300 Marks
    2. English Language - 300 Marks
    3. Essay - 200 Marks
    4. General Studies Paper I - 300 Marks
    5. General Studies Paper II - 300 Marks
    6. Any Selected Subject Paper - I and Paper II - Both has 300 Marks

you may choose any two subjects of the following for your mains examination :

    8. Economics
    9. Electrical Engineering

    20. Political Science and International Relations

Interview Process : If you qualify in both prelims and mains exam then you would be called for interview process by the UPSC board and if you qualify the interview then you would become an IAS officer

How to Prepare at Home : If you are unable to go to coaching then you may prepare for this exam at your home but the coaching is must for every student but there is nothing issue about preparation at home

You are pursuing MBBS third year so that you are not eligible to apply for civil service exams this year so you have a complete year to prepare for your exams and you can easily manage the time for your preparation along with your MBBS studies and you should prepare by following this procedure

MBBS is a practical degree so that you have to give more time for your MBBS so you should give at least 3 hours everyday for your civil service and you may choose morning time for your preparation of civil service then go to college and complete your MBBS work and if you are really dedicated for your study then you may easily prepare for your civil service exams and may learn everything easily.

You should purchase some following books for this exam and if possible then you should keep in touch with any coaching and collect some study material according to your new syllabus and if possible then visit to the coaching once or twice in a week

    1. DD Basu
    2. Romila Thapar
    3. Arihant Publication - General Studies and CSAT
    4. Upkar Publication - General Studies for Preliminary exam
    5. RS Agrawal - CSAT
