dear aspirant,

there is no change in syllabus for Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC for the posts of IAS, IPS, IRS etc. and Commission is not going to change it in near future.

the only one change in Civil Services exam is that Prelims exam is changed to CSAT(Civil Services Aptitude Test). Now there is no optional subjects in CSAT. There are two papers of General Studies are conducted now.

Without any confirmation for the sellabus changes from the UPSC you can continue with that of previous Sellabus
if any changes will there stil previous sellabus will be needful to you for your better result so without any confusion you just go to your way

Well right now their is no official announcement from

The upsc side regarding any changes and right now their is no changes made

And the pattern is same as for the last exam 2012 like that

Here is the criteria for the exam :

-The candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

-The candidate age should be between 21-30

Dear Applicant,
- Although there have been too may rumours regarding the change in pattern for the MAINS exams of the Civil Services,there has been NO official announcement by the UPSC.
- Hence,you should abide by the same old syllabus.
- The CIVIL SERVICES,2013, will be conducted by the same pattern by which the 2012 exams were conducted.

Dear pal,

• Civil service exam includes Aptitude exam followed by main exam. As far now there is no change in the syllabus for the aptitude nor the main exam.

• Common aptitude exam includes two papers the syllabus for the both is below.

• paper 1 : current event of national and international event, indian history, indian and world geography, economics and social development, general issues on ecology, biodiversity, indian politics, governance, constitution, etc .

• paper 2 : logical reasoning, comprehension, decision making, problem solving, general mental ability, interpersonel skill, communication ability, basic numeracy, english etc.

• You need to prepare yourself in the above pattern for doing well in the exam. Good understanding of these need to be made by the aspirant to compete others in the exam.

No there will not be any change in the syllabus of civil services exam 2013. So you can prepare as per current syllabus. For Syllabus download the attachment.

from the sources it is quite sure that pattern of upsc is about to change from next year or after that!
but still you have to wait untill there is official annoncement from upsc side!

No it is just rumour there are no such changes in the syllabus of the UPSC exam .
And if it is , UPSC will announce the changes made in the syllabus before the exam .
But there are no such annoucement so you will prepare the current syllabus accordingly .

still we couldn't conclude anything about the syllabus change for the UPSC mains 2013 ,as there is no any notification has been released by the upsc untill now.

so, I will suggest you rather thinking about syllabus change it is better that you will prepare according to the earlier syallabus because only syllabus will be reduced, in that way it will only reduces some of your topic not whole the syllabus will get changed overnight.

so, better choose such optionals whose syallabus changes if any later on, then you have no problem so you can choose likes of history,geography,public administration etc.

moreover as prelim's converted to CSAT aptitude type test means now it is eased to previous version so there is only chances to make somewhat easy to MAINS alos ,if any.

so it will not hurt you anyways.

most probably there is not much changes for the Civil service exam 2013....... but don't be sure there won't be any, there will surely be a slight change. to make sure of the syllabus log in to www.upsc.govt.in or you can gather information from newspaper like the employment news weekly.. best of luck.

only changes the preliminary exam syllabus. now both paper is the general study.

other wise main exam is no changes.
