Yes dear sure means if you have completed your bachelor's degree in any discipline through distance mode then there is no problem to apply for civil service exam means you may apply easily for this examination but your university/board/institute should be recognized by UGC or AICTE then only you will be eligible to apply

Age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

You may apply for this exam between - 5th march 2013 to 4th april 2013 at www.upsc.gov.in and may appear for this examination at - 26th May 2013 that is why you need to concentrate on your preparation if you have completed your study for this exam and if not then you need to go to any good coaching and prepare for next UPSC civil service exam because if you will try to cover the complete syllabus then you may not because there is no more time left and the syllabus is huge for this examination that is why you need to start preparation for next civil service exam but you must apply for this exam also and get the knowledge about the exam and pattern of the examination and try to qualify this prelims exam also

    All the best

Distance education is allowed if your degree is from a UGC recognised University. There are several institutes today offering distance learning but only few are recognised by UGC or DEC.You should be from a proper recognised university and then you can apply as any other regular course graduate.

Re: Is distance education allowed as qualification for Civils?

    Hello

YES THE DISTANT EDUCATION IS VERY MUCH ELIGIBLE FOR THE CIVIL EXAMS.

You first of all need to understand the exact meaning of distant education. The distant mode of education was started by the government with a motive to help those students who have to work daily to run their life, simple meaning for them who does not have time to come to college or school daily. It is a process which allows them to study as well as do their daily work or so.That would help lots of students as they will be able to learn ,which help them to achieve good future. And the degree or certificate provided by distant mode education is equally valuable as that of regular mode.No body can question the authenticity of the degree of the distant mode.
So just be free regarding this, you bare eligible to apply in each and every sector both governmental and private.

You must be at least graduate in order to apply for the civil exams.
