Dear UPSC board has been announced the dates for upcoming UPSC civil services exams and you may apply for this exam between these dates if you have enough eligibility criteria which is also following :

Start date for online application - 02-02-2013

Last date for online application - 04-03-2013

Date for UPSC civil service exam - 19-05-2013

If you have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and your age is between 21-30 years then you can apply for this exam and if you belongs to reserved category then you will get the relaxation in upper age as 5 years for SC/ST category candidates and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Its great to see that you are so serious regarding the IAS preparations.
See I will suggest you to go through the NCERT books syllabus thoroughly.
Students usually have Biology from the class 8th,so try to accumulate all the NCERT books of Biology from class 8th onwards.

Go through them and make sure that your basics are clear.
I think NCERT books are more than sufficient to make you prepare well for the IAS exam.
If you want to study more,then you can buy packages that are distributed by various coaching centres.

dear aspirant,

IAS(Indian Administration Service) one of the India's prestigious

and powerful post. Preparation for IAS is not an easy task. you have

to well prepared for exam.

for IAS you have to appear in Civil Services exam that is

conducted by UPSC every year.

coming back on your question as you say you are biology student

so i assume that you choose biology as your optional subject. for

biology you must choose NCERT books for Biology. NCERT books

are enough for preparation. you can also try previous year papers

which will tell you about the pattern of exam and it is also a part of

preparation.
