    Dear friend,

    IPS stands for Indian Police Officer.

    The exam for this is organised by a central government body i.e, UPSC.

    The exam is known by the name Civil services Exam.

    To enter into IPS you will have to appear for this exam.
    The exam is conducted only once in a year.


    You will have to appear for CSAT exam which stands for CIvil services aptitude test.

    This is a preliminary exam which consists of 2 papers.

    1st one is General Aptitude.
    It contains sections of maths and logical reasoning.

    2nd one is general studies.

    After you qualify in this exam you will have to appear for mains exam.

    then after qualifying in mains you will be required to appear for the Interview which is the last stage of the exam.

    Well IPS stands for Indian Police Service.This exam is conducted by UPSC [ Union Public Service Comission ] every year.There are three levels in this exam1. Preliminary2. Mains and3. InterviewThe following are the eligible criteria for writing this exam�� You must be a Graduate�� You must be an Indian�� Your age must lie between + General Category : 21 - 30 years + OBC : 21 - 33 years + SC & ST : 21 - 35 years�� Number of permissible attempt + General Category : 4 + OBC : 7 + SC & ST : No limit�� You should not have any criminal record .....     Hello friends,

    UPSC conducts CSE to recruit IPS officers. The details of exam is as follows:

    Details for prelims:

    1st->The exam is conducted in the month of May every year.
    2nd->>It consists of two papers : GS and Aptitude test.
    3rd->>The number of questions vary.
    4th->>There is 1/3rd negative marking for every wrong answer.
    5th->>It is of objective nature.
    6th->>Marks for this exam is not counted for final selection.
    7th->>This exam only qualifies you to appear for mains.

    Details for mains:
    The exam is conducted in the month of Oct/Nov every year. It consists of nine papers :
    1...GS(2), 2... First Optional(2), 3...Second optional(2), 4....Essay, English and Hindi.

    There is NO negative marking for every wrong answer. It is of subjective nature.
    English and Hindi papers are of qualifying nature where you have to score a minimum of 40% marks.
    If you fail to do so, other answer sheets won't be evaluated.
    Maximum marks for all other papers is 300 except for Essay paper which is of 200 marks.

    Details for Interview:
    Maximum marks: 300. Conducted in the month of March-April

    IPS means Indian Police Service, for which UPSC conducts the written exam.

    One has to clear the civil service exam conducted by UPSC for entering into this field.

    To attempt this exam, you need to have a degree from recognized university as your basic qualification is 12th now, you are not eligible to give this exam, but after completion of your degree you can give this exam.

    Eligibility conditions are as follows:

    Educational eligibility: Any degree from recognized university.

    Age criteria:

    Minimum: 21 years

    Maximum: 30 years.

    This is applicable for general category.

    There is upper age relaxation as follows

    3 years for OBC.

    5 years for SC/ST

    Physical standard required are as follows:




    Exam Pattern :

    1.Preliminary exam

    2.Mains

    3.Personal Interview

    No. of Attempts:

    4 attempts for general category

    7 attempts for OBC category

    There is no restriction for SC/ST.

    Next UPSC Civil services Preliminary exam is on 19-05-2013.

    Date of Notification: 02-02-2013.

    Last date for receipt of application: 04-03-2013.

    Hello Friend,
    IPS or Indian police service exam is taken by every year conducted by UPSC .
    Eligibility:
    1.The candidate must have posses a degree course in any recognized University of India.Those in Final years is also appear the preliminary exam.
    2.The candidate must be a citizen of India.
    Age Limit:
    1.The candidate must have attained the age minimum 21 year and maximum 30 year on 1st august of the year of examination.
    2. The upper age limit is relaxed by 3 year for OBC and 5 year for SC?ST candidates.
    3.The upper age limit is also relaxed in favour of Defence services personnel.
    Exam procedure:
    1.First the candidate has to procure the application form along with the Information Brochure from any of the post office/Head post office spread allover the country and sent the filled application form to the secretary,Union public service commission,New Delhi.
    2.In month of May/June the aspirant have to take the preliminary exam consist of 2 papers.
    3.Those candidates qualified in the preliminary exam are appear the main exam normally in the month of October.
    4.once you are qualified the test the final stage is interview.
    Then, the candidate who have secured good rank go for training .they are posted as per recruitment of the central/state govt. police & Investigatio Organization.
    Preliminary Exam:It is the qualifying examination with objective type questions.
    Main Exam:it consist of written exam & Interview .
    For IPS:
    Height-Male(General)-165cm & ST-160cm.,Women (General)-150cm & ST-145cm.
    Chest-84cm. for male expansion 5 cm.
    79cm. for female expansion 5cm.
    Eye sight-6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
    These are the main important details about IPS exam conducted bu Union public service Commission.

    If you want to become an IPS officer then you need to crack the CSAT exam also say civil services exam. this exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year.

    candidate should be graduate from a recognized university in any stream
    marks or percentage doesn't matter in CSAT exam

    Age Limit

    General 21 to 30 year
    OBC 21 to 33 year
    SC/ST 21 to 35 year

    Nationality- must be Indian


    Physical
    Minimum height of 165 cm for Men
    Minimum height 150 cm for Women

    Chest 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women
    Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women

    dear frnds, If you want to details regarding IPS exam then just go this site www.upsc.gov.in from here you can find all details regarding IPS. But dear you don't apply for it bcoz you have passed only higher secondary for this exam you should be graduate from recognized university.

    To become an IPS Officer you would be crack the Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC Every year

    For this examination your Age should be between 21-30 years
    Age relaxation for OBC 3 years
    SC/ST 5 years

    You must be Graduate any stream from any recognized university

    Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.
    You can only appear in IPS Exam if you satisfy the basic eligibility criteria like

    Educational Qualification
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
    Final year degree students are also eligible
    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Age limit
    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    OBC 21-33 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted
    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    Special Physical Requirements For IPS
    1.Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.)

    2.Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.

    3.Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D

    4.Presence of Squint is a disqualification

    To join an IPS exam you should be graduate from recognized university. Age should be 21-30 yrs. Must be citizen of India..According these details you can apply regarding IPS exam..But to become an IPS officer you will have to complete three stage.

    1. Prelims exam.
    2. Mains exam.
    3. Interview.

    I want to give ips exams .I have passed higher secondary .my subjects were physics chemistry and maths .I request u to forward me all the details regarding the exams .Waiting anxiously for ur reply
