for male(ST)=160 CM

For female=150cm(general)
for ST=145 cm

-chest=for men (minimum)=84 cm with 5cm of expansion
for female(minimum)=79 cm with 5cm of chest expansion.

-eye sight=6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 for worst eye.

-ear=good listening and normal ear cavity.

IPS is the Indian Police services.In order to join the IPS ,you have to compete the civil services examinations that account for the following eligibility criteria :

Apart from the physical requirements ,you need to fulfill some other criteria also which are as below:

>>You need to have a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.

The examination consists of three stages which are:

Eligibility Criteria To Apply for Indian Police Service Exam 2013:

Candidate must posses a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if he/she pursuing final year of the graduation then also eligible to apply for this exam

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government standards which are as 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Physical Standards which are required for IPS Officer Post :

Hight Male - 165 cm for general, OBC and SC and 160 cm for ST category candidates

Hight Female - 150 cm for general, OBC and SC and 145 cm for ST category candidates

Chest Male - 84 cm and should have 5 cm of expansion

Chest Female - 79 cm and should have 5 cm of expansion

Eye Sight - Near vision should be - 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye and 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. J 1 distant vision for good eye and J 2 distant vision for worst eye. There should not be any night color blindness in eyes

Ear - Good listening and normal year cavity and frequency should be between 1000 to 4000. Hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels

Nasal - Candidate should not stammer while speaking/talking/conversing

Female candidate should not be pregnant during to the medical or physical standards test

Examination Pattern for this exam :

Preliminary exam - 2 papers in objective type pattern and each paper has 200 marks

Mains Examination - 9 papers for 2000 marks in conventional type pattern and qualifying in each prelims and mains paper is necessary to reach to the interview process

Interview Process - Candidate would be called for interview process only after qualifying both of the prelims and mains exam and it has 300 marks separate

To become an IPS officer you would be crack the Civil Service Exam which is conducted by UPSC every year

For this candidate must be Graduate from any recognized university

Age should be between 21-30 years
Age relaxation for OBC 3 years
SC/ST 5 years

Physical Standard

For Female:

Height : 150 cm Pahari Female 145 cm
Chest : 79 cm and 5 cm expansion
eye sight : 6/6 or 6/9 for distant vision
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye

Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test

Exam Patterns:

1 Preliminary Examination (Written Test)
2. Main Examination (written Test and Interview)

Friend, as per the given height in the query, you are fully eligible for Indian Police Service. Please note that only your height is necessary, you have to satisfy other eligibility conditions also and there after have to crack the examination.You must be graduated in any discipline.Your age should be in the range of 21-30 years.Height required for IPS is 165 cm (male) and 155 cm (female) for general category.Also you must be subject of India and physically fit in all respect.

Hello Dear,

On the basis of your given detail you are eligible for IPS Exam but there are some other eligibility criteria which is also important for appearing the exam.

To become an IPS you need to clear the CSAT exam this exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year.

Eligibility Criteria is

candidate should be graduate from a recognized university in any stream
marks or percentage doesn't matter in CSAT exam

Age Limit

General 21 to 30 year
OBC 21 to 33 year
SC/ST 21 to 35 year

Nationality- must be Indian


Physical Criteria for IPS
Minimum height of 165 cm for Men
Minimum height 150 cm for Women

Chest 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women

Hi,

See according to the eligibility criteria for IPS exam-

The male candidate should be 165cm and female candidate should be 150cm for general category candidates. In the case of candidates coming under SC/ST/OBC the height required is 160cm for male and 145cm for female.

Since your height is 160 cm,hence you clear this criteria.

So you can sit for IPS and join Indian Poilice Services given that you fulfill other criteria as well!
