dear friend,

there is no optional subject in UPSC related to your field.
but i recommend you to choose ARTS Subjects like Indian History and geography as optional subject. which are easy to understand and easy to crack.

Dear Applicant,
-Taking your eXcellence and past record into considerations,the perfect option for you would have been anything related to Computers and Hardware.
However,in the list of Optional Subjects for the Mains of Civil Services,there does not features COMPUTER,or any other subject related to it.
Hence,I doubt you might have to start preparations afresh.
-Personally,I would recommend you to choose from the Arts subjects,which feature in the list of optional subjects.INDIAN HISTORY AND PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION are the perfect choice.
-The other subjects which you can opt for are POLITICAL SCIENCE,GEOGRAPHY and ECONOMICS.
-These subjects are highly scoring.They are most common among the IITians,MBBS and MBAs too.The high success rate of the subjects during the past years make them the first choice.
-Also,these subjects form a core part of the Paper-I in the Preliminary exams.
Therefore,it will help you prepare for both preliminary and mains exams,thus saving time.
-So,now you can choose the best for yourself.Take your time and make the call.
-Once you have done so,You can look after your preparations.
Improve your writing skills,and practice writing a lots of essays.Get rid of the grammatical and spelling mistakes.
-Also solve a lot of model papers,and previous year question papers.
-Prefer self-study.It is the key.
-Work hard.You'll definitely succeed.

I want to give UPSC exams, I am doing BSc IT from SMU and have done MCSE (Microsoft certifications) and having the background (experience)from computer and networking. Can you please suggest which subject suites me for the mains and what is good for me, so that I can start preparing from now itself.
