Hi Aspirant,

Friend you can appear for Civil service exam in final year of B. Tech.

In this time I will suggest you to study the GS section because it is very broad section and there is no limit of GS.


So you should do proper study of newspaper and competitive magazine

You should listen news and be aware about current affairs.

There are limited attempts for Civil Service exam

4 attempts for General

7 attempts for OBC

No limit for SC/ST


So you should not waste attempt and should give exam after complete preparation.

You should study from NCERT and reference books.


Books for CSE exam





After completing engineering you can also apply for IES ( Indian Engineering Service) exam.

dear you can prepare well ,
just manage you time for studies,
select a time in which you will study only for the preparation of exam,
then make a time table for that time period and include every subjects in it and give appropriate time to each subjects ,
solve more and more practice papers .

dear good preparation does not depend upon how much hours you study it depends upon the sufficient and time managed study,
you should manage your time well so that every subject gets the proper time to do better preparation,
also you should make time table of all subjects and give appropriate time for study to each subjects,
solve practice papers daily,

As you are in 3rd year you have total 1 year to prepare for the exam, for this you can join any coaching institute for preparation which will help you in the right way or give you the proper guidance for preparation along with the study material and other helpful things through which you can do very well in first attempt .
For books you can got to UPSC website to get the previous year question papers and other things which will be helpful to you .

You can apply for UPSC ies exam i.e. engineering services examination when you will give 4th year exam of your university. You can log on to www.upsconline.nic.in for online apply.

The Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in the month of June India wide. First of all you have to go through the Question Pattern for which exam you want to appear. You can download and print Previous Years Question Papers at www.upsc.gov.in

NCERT books are best for the basic knowledge because it covers full syllabus of UPSC.

You can also practice more and more MODEL Question Papers from a sample paper by which you can experience to the Questions coming in UPSC exams.
