    hi dear,
its great to find india's future generation being so much encouraged regarding civil service.still i would like to suggest you that there is a particular time for everything and that time for preparing for the ias exams has not arrived yet for you till now.first concentrate upon your 11th and 12th exam, clear it all, then clear your graduation then go for it.still you can have a look over previous year question papers for the same.ncert books and upsc portal publications will be of a great help to you for the same in future.build up a good general knowledge from now.after graduation better join any good institute for ias coaching.best of luck.

Firstly, you need to write Preliminary exam of Civil Service followed by Mains.

The qualification for the Civil Service is Graduation(Degree). So you need to complete your graduation.
Coming to the Preliminary exam, it consists of General Science and Aptitudes.
And the syllabus for the Preliminary is cover everything intermediate level like GK,Biology, everything.

And the syllabus for the Mains is to select two subjects out of 22 subjects but a combo of same stream is avoided like (Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering).
And an Indian language out of 28 languages.

As you're 11th standard, I'd suggest you to go through newspapers, history(Indian), Geography(India) And the problems arising in your state.
And reading the newspapers is just not the thing, you'd analyse the facts and analyse every stuff you go through.
The main important thing is to prepare notes of it. It helps you to reckon everything when you just have glance at it.

And preparing the notes is very good job because you'll never find anything in any book about certain topic which you surely find in dailies.
Go through two languages of dailies (one, perhaps English and second, your language).

And section of subjects for Mains depends on what course you do in your graduation.
After deciding the course, then go should go through previous year papers.
And questions from anything under the sun can be seen in General Science Paper.

And you can also join a institute just 2years before writing the preliminary exam.

You should create your own time-table because proper planning and execution is more important for success.

More and more rehearsals are also important!

And one more thing, 10lac applications are submitted every year for the Civil Service Preliminary Exam. Out of this only 12000-14000 are writing Mains.
Out of those only 900-1000 are recruited. See the competition,
"Only the purest of the pure are recruited".

So the bells of victory should always ring in your mind while preparing and producing the answers.

    I wish you all Success!
    thanks ..............

Re: How should I start preparation for IAS exam after completing 11th class?

civil services exam is a tough nut to crack indeed. but nothing is impossible in this world . the applicant who clear the civil services exams are also one of us .they are got anything special that help them to clear the exams . it is because they are so determined and focused for their goal to become an IAS or an IPS officer to serve our nation .
one more thing that can help you to achieve the goal of becoming an IAS or an IPS officer is self analysis. by self analysis i meant to say is when you analyse yourself you would come to know where is the problem is between you and your goal.
after 12th you should try n manage your time so that you can proper time to ever aspect of your studies along with preparation for civil services .
be focused and determined towards your goal you will surely achieve your goal.
