Grade Pay - Rs 5400.
Pay Scale - Rs 15600 - 39100.
Salary increases with promotion then salary will be-
Grade pay - Rs 10000
Pay Scale - Rs 37400 - 67000.

An IAS officer get a salary of INR 35000 to 40000 at an initial stage and an IAS officer get a lot of allowances. Please forget the salary because this job give you a lot of self satisfaction and you will feel proud.

IAS (indian administrative service)is one of the respectful service which is hard to get,but once you got you will respected by your work.friend,you will have pay Rs 35000.let me tell if you are going to join IAS just for the pay,then dont do that.you can get the good pay even in private company or other services.you got the IAS seat,then value it ,use the power for development of the country ,state,city..

Dear Pay Scale Criteria is following for IAS officer post :

Newly Appointed IAS Officer after final selection and training - 15600 to 39100 + 5400 Grade Pay INR Monthly

Senior IAS Officer than fresh appointed means - 15600 to 39100 + 6600 Grade Pay INR Monthly

After 9 years of service in relevant sector - 15600 to 39100 + 7600

After 14 years of service or becoming - Director or Deputy Secretary - 37400 to 67000 + 8700 INR Monthly

Dear there is no insufficiency of money in this sector but if you are working honestly and according to the rules of the government and not involve in any wrong profession and not getting wrong profit of your post then you may grow your career and make yourself famous in entire India and after sometimes Indian and State government also provide various types of award with huge amount but you should be honest to your work and should make the district and state able to remember means you should serve the country and the peoples of the country.

Hi,IAS jobs are the most sought after jobs in India and are the top class jobs among Indian Civil Services.Since implementation of 6th Pay Commission, the salary structure of IAS officers has really improved and now they are now getting handsome salary along withmany other benefits.The salary structures for IAS Officers can be divided into the following categories :Junior Scale : Pay Band: Rs 15600-39100 Grade Pay Rs 5400This is the scale in which the selected candidates are initially placed. The above are only Basic Pay. You will also be entitled for HRA (or official accommodation) , DA (the DA for July 2012onwards is 72%. An IAS officer gets a salary of Class A officer which is ~40000 to 45000 Rs per month in hand. But, an IAS officer enjoys lot of other perks that are unmatchable with any other service.

Friend, please note that initial salary of an IAS officer is around 40,000 - 50,000 INR. An IAS officer is provided lot of allowances and other facilities. As per my point of view, job of IAS officer does not matter because the job of an IAS officer provides you complete job satisfaction and challenging atmosphere. An IAS officer can do lot for his society through constructive works. He can serve the people by looking at the local problems of the local people. In short, an IAS officer can also do social service.
