    Dear Aspirant

    If you are technically good,understand concepts and love solving numerical it will be good to take B.Tech among Civil,Electrical& Mechanical(Only these three provided as optional by UPSC).But if you have good writing skills,have more interest in arts paper then you may take public administration.This paper will help you in General studies also.

    Don't select optional that science paper is more scoring as the examination pattern followed by UPSC has made a equal level of marking scheme though it may be any paper

    dear friend,
    you can opt for any of these two courses depending on which one u are most interested both of these are helpful for civils but i prefer u to take b tech because u would have a better degree and sufficient time to study for civils

    To get a good rank in civils,which would give an advantage-doing some degree in pub admin. or b.tech?
