Re: Which is better between IES and IPS in terms of powers and salary? Re: Which is better between IES and IPS in terms of powers and salary? Hi friends, IES is far better than IPS . without technical knowledge nothing is possible,if you join IPS you will have some power but you will not apply your technical knowledge which you gained in engineering . If you join IES than you will have power+you will have to use your technical knowledge to solve problems. IES is conducted in following branches- 1st----Mechanical engineering 2nd----Civil engineering 3rd-----Electrical engineering 4th-----ECE 5th-----Computer science and engineering. You have to pass general studies and general English papers also. Form main exam you have to pass subjective papers.

Re: Which is better between IES and IPS in terms of powers and salary? Dear Aspirant, IES officer get more salary pacakge then IPS officer, but when we talk about power ,IPS officer has more power than IES officer. Its totally your choice where you have interest because our interest has more important to appear in any exam of life. So if you get a govt. job either IES or IPS then you should know your ability and interest. If You can go for IPS/IAS/IRS Exam then you have to apply for Civil Services Examination. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS. Eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam:- >>You must have a bechelor's degree in any discipline from any recognized university. There is no issue your degree by distance learning/regular if the university is a recognized. >>Your age between 21-30 years and age relaxation is provide for reserved category. >>Nationality must be Indian. Re: Which is better between IES and IPS in terms of powers and salary? Dear Friend Really it is an interested question. IES stands for the Indian Engineering services and IPS stands for the Indian Police services. For becoming IES officer ,you have to have clear the Engineering services examinations whereas for becoming IPS officer ,you have to clear the civil services examinations .Both the examinations are held by the UPSC once every year. Now coming to your question In terms of salary,IES officer gets more than the IPS. But when we talk about the power ,IPS officer has more power than IES. Since you are going for the civil services ,please go for the IAS as an IAS officer is the most powerful in comparison to all. Hope the information helps you. all the best aashisranjan784
