    The following process is required to be followed to become an IPS officer.

    1. First of all you have to complete your graduation as it is a must for you.
    2. You have to prepare simultaneously for the CIVIL SERVICES also as the exam is a tough one to crack.
    3. You can join some good coaching institute also.
    4. Do not forget to Maintain your physical health also as it is also necessary

    Now lets talk about the Eligibility criteria :-

    1. All graduate are eligible
    2. Graduation must be done from a recognized university
    3. Only Indian citizen are eligible
    4. Age limit is 20-30 years
    5. Graduation subject does not matter at all
    6. relaxation to those who belong to SC, ST and OBC
    7. Attempts are also limited that is why a thorough preparation in mandatory.
    8. No minimum percentage criteria for IPS

    Paper pattern :-

    IPS Pre
    IPS Mains
    IPS Interview

    Thorough and detailed preparation is mandatory and it can only be achieved when you study with full dedication. One more thing that i want to tell you is that choose your Subject wisely

    Then after a medical exam will be taken.

    Qualification:


    You must have completed Graduation from any recognized University.Final year student are applicable for IPS Exam.

    B.Com student are also applicable IPS exam

    Age Criteria:

    For General: 21 to 30 years

    For OBC: 21 to 33 years

    For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

    No. of Attempts:

    For General: 3

    For OBC: 7

    For SC/ST: No Restriction

    Hello,
    You have to apply for Civil Services Examination to become IPS Officer. Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS. You just have to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria to appear for the Exam.

    The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:

    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible.
    The age limit is 21-30 yrs.
    The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4.
    The candidate should be Indian.

    Special Physical Requirements For IPS
    1.Minimum height of 165 cm for Men and 150 cm for Women (minimum height is relaxable to 160 and 145 cm for Men and Women respectively in the case of candidates belonging to ST and to races such as Gorkhas, Garhwalias, Assamese, Kumaonis, Nagaland Tribals etc.)

    2.Min Chest girth fully expanded: 84 cm for Men and 79 cm for Women. Expansion of 5 cm for Men and Women.

    3.Total amount of Myopia (including the cylinder) should not exceed minus 4.00 D and total amount of Hypermetropia (including the cylinder) should not exceed plus 4.00 D

    4.Presence of Squint is a disqualification

    Eligibility Criteria for UPSC IPS - Indian Police Service exam 2013 :

    A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam

    Age should be between 21-30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC

    If you have above mentioned qualifications then you can apply for UPSC Indian Police Service Exam

    Required Physical Standards for IPS Officer during the physical/medical test

    Hight Male - 165 cm and 160 cm for ST category candidates

    Hight Female - 150 cm and 145 cm for ST category candidates

    Chest Male - 84 cm with 5 cm of expansion - 5 cm relaxation for STs

    Chest Female - 79 cm with 5 cm of expansion - 5 cm relaxation for STs

    Eye Sight - Near vision should be either - 6/6 or 6/9 for good eye and 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye, distant vision should be J 1 for good eye and J 2 for worst eye, no night color blindness

    Ear - Good listening with normal ear cavity and frequency should be between 1000-4000 and hearing impairment should not be more than 30 decibels

    Nasal - Candidate should not stammer during to speaking/talking/presenting

    Female candidates should not be pregnant during to physical or medical test

    Examination Pattern for UPSC IPS Office Exam 2013 :

    Preliminary exam : 2 papers would be conducted in objective type format and both paper contains 400 marks means 200 for each and qualifying in each paper is necessary

    Mains exam : 9 paper would be conducted in conventional type format and all 9 papers contains 2000 marks and qualifying in each paper is necessary and you would have to choose any two optional subjects for mains exam and you can choose any two from the following list :

    Interview Process : If you qualify both prelims and mains exam successfully then you should prepare hard to face interview process and this would be your final stage of selection so that dear if you qualify the interview then you would become an IAS officer and if possible then you should prepare for interview under any IAS or IPS officer because only a experienced candidate can help you out about this

    How and What to prepare for this exam : Dear if possible then you should find out any best coaching institute near to your hometown or city so that you do not waste your time and directly go to the coaching institute because only coaching institute may help you to prepare for this exam and preparation is not so easy like other competitive exams as - Bank, Railway, SSC etc. because it is a UPSC board exams which considers as the toughest exams in the entire India so that you have to prepare in coaching institute and do not leave everything on the coaching institute because they may guide and motivate you only but they would not catch you finger and leave you at the target, they would show you the way and tell you that how to walk on that way to reach at your goal so that you should prepare according to the guidance.

    Coaching institutes provides study with new and fresh updated syllabus so that you could easily grow yourself with various facilities also as magazines, interview and personality development classes, practice classes and dear if you really wants to get qualified easily in a few time then you need to do practice hard because study is not enough, you need to save your time in the exam which is not so easy so that you should solve at least 3 practice sets everyday to make your speed and give at least 15-17 hours everyday only to your study.

    2nd---Candidates who have appeared for final year exams also apply for this Exam.

    Age criteria:

    Yes,a become graduate to become an IPS officer.
    IPS means Indian police Service.
    The Minimum Educational Qualification for a IPS officer:
    The aspirant must have posses a bachelor degree in any dicipline in any recognized University of India.
    Those in the final year of a degree course can also appear the preliminary exam for IPS taken by
    every year conducted by UPSC .

    The UPSC conducts the IPS (Indian Police Service) through CSAT examination. The essential qualification is to pass or appear the Bachelor degree at any recognized university in any discipline. The age limit for the examination is within 21-30 years. The upper age limit is 03years for OBC and 05years for SC/ST candidates. The number of attempts for appearing the examination is also only 04 attempts for General and 07 attempts for OBC and unlimited attempts till the upper age limit.     IPS stands for Indian Police Services. It is one of the INDIA's reputed Post.
    Too become an IPS officer you have to appear in Civil Services Exam which is conducted by UPSC every year. For appearing in Civil Services you must have graduation i any field from recognized college or university. Final year students can also appear in the exam.

    Firstly complete your graduation.

    if your age between the 21 to 30 years. then you are eligible for the exam.

    after that decide what's your optional subject for the mains exam.

    set your time schedule for preparation of the exam according to the syllabus.

    read the news paper daily for know about the daily updation.

    read the ncert books and the magazines for knowledge that is help in the general study.

    time management for the exam and preparation is compulsory for the any exam.
