Eligibility for UPSC IAS and IPS Examination 2013

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear this year IAS examination notification has been issued by the UPSC board and according to the mentioned dates in notification you can apply for this exam between these following dates

Start date for online application - 05-03-2013

Last date for online application - 04-04-2013

Date for examination of IAS - 26-05-2013

If you contain above mentioned eligibility criteria then you can apply for this examination at - www.upsc.gov.in and you must prepare for this examination if you wants to qualify

To prepare for this examination you will get the best coaching in Delhi and other relevant areas and i would like to say that you should join any one of the - Vajiram & Ravi or Chanakya Academy or Classic or Lord Krishna coaching institute to prepare for this exam because these mentioned coaching institutes are the best to prepare for this examination and if you will give more time for your preparation then you may easily get selected in the written examination but you will have to dedicate more for study and keep only one target in your mind that you are going to become an IAS Officer so that you have to do everything for that

YES YOU CAN APPLY FOR THE IAS,IPS WITH A DISTANCE DEGREE.

The degree of the distance and regular studies both have the same value and importance in any of the private and government sector.The distance education degree is well recognized by the government and has the validity same as regular degree.

But you must check that your university is UGC(University Grants Commission) approved and have DEC(Distance Educational Council),if it is so then your degree is valid for any job anywhere in this world.

Graduation may be of Any stream


But that should be from a recognized university

The minimum age must be 21 years

Maximum age could be 30 years

Yes, you are eligible for IPS, IAS

To become an IPS or IAS officer you would be crack the civil service exam

For this examination must be Graduate any stream from any recognized university

There is no issue that you have pass your degree in regular or distance mode


Age must be between 21-30 year for General
21-33 year for OBC
21-35 year for SC/ST

Number of Attempts
For General 4
For OBC 7
For SC/ST No Limits

So dear you can apply for Civil Service Exam to become an IPS or IAS officer

Yeah mine friend,, you are eligible for Civil services Examination.

But first of all you must be aware that there is no examination called IAS or IPS,, instead these are Posts..

Now, coming to main question ,, yes you are eligble since :

IAS and IPS both are prestigious posts in our country.

For both posts, you need to give one exam i.e Civil services exam.

Civil services exam is conducted by UPSC.

The eligibility required to give this exam is any degree from recognized university.

You need to have a valid degree, thats it no matter whether it is through regular mode or through distance mode.

You should have a degree from recognized university, then you can apply for the exam.

The age criteria required is minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years.

There is upper age relaxation for reserved category candidates.

The minimum age for OBC Category is 21 years and maximum is 33 years.

The minimum age for SC/ST Category is 21 years and maximum is 35 years.

The minimum age for PWD/Ex-service men is 21 years and maximum is 40 years.

Exam Pattern:

Prelims

Mains

Interview

There is restriction on the number of attempts given for the exam.

4 attempts are allowed for general category

7 attempts are allowed for OBC Category

No restriction for SC/ST.

If you are seriously interested in these services, you need to join good coaching center and work very hard.

Civil service exam is one of the most prestigious exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various All India Services.IAS(Indian Administrative Service),IPS(Indian Police Service) exam is included in these services.

Educational Qualification required for IAS/IPS:
1.The candidate must posses a Bachelor degree in any dicipline or any equivalent in any recognized University of India.
2.Those in Final year of the degree course is also apply for IAS/APS exam.
3.degree obtained by distance education/Open university is also eligible if the University is a Recognized University.
So,it is clear that you can apply for IAS,IPS after completion the degree in distance education.

ias,ips or all other upsc exam requires a bachelor degree from a recognized university either regular or distance.

Ias exam stands for indian administrative services.

Ips exam stands for indian police services.

These exam have three steges;-

--*-*interview


-*--eligibility
--*graduation from a valid universuity

--age limit is 21-30 yers.

**Final year student are also applicable for IAS/IPS Exam.
