Its not the matter of how many hours you study but how much time you're concentrating.

What I meant to say is, if someone studying for 10hours and concentrating only 1 hour is equal to the one who's studying only for 1 hour, concentrating completely on it. I hope now you got my point.

So, as a matter of fact, no-one completely concentrate for 10hours. You can concentrate for 5hours completely.

Try to improve your concentrating skills, then if you study for 6 hours, you can count on that six hours. If you do not improve, if you study for 6 hours then you can count only 1-2hours.

dear i agree that you really doing hard work to clear exam but i think if you will do sufficient study every day then you will definitely clear the exam...

these exams require hard work and your hard work pays for it the more you work hard the more you achieve success and so study regularly if for five hours in a day then grasp it completely

for UPSC quantity of study does not matter, you must have quality in your study.
so whatever you study you must have to take interest in it and try to understand what ever you read.

Tips for preparation :

first and most important Manage your Time table and maintain your self calm and Cool.
go ahead according to UPSC Syllabus.
you can start for UPSC by study 6th to 12th NCERT books.
increase your general knowledge, continuous reading news papers and magazines, concentrate on English.
solving Previous year question papers is most requisite part of preparation.

Dear aspirant,i will only say that whatever you study 10 hours or only 1 hour, if your input is 100% than your output should be 100%if you don't study with carely than your 20 hours of study would be fail to can take you in clerkical level exam but your disciplined 4 hours can take you into IAS(MY COUSIN IS EXAMPLE FOR IT)thank you

u can crack the exam if you study 5 hrs a day but the studying should be proper and well planned and not just sitting for 10 hrs and doing nothing fruitfull.

studying 10 hrs is not just required, understanding is more important. even if u study for 15hrs but not understanding does no good to you.

its not like that you have to study 10 hours or 15 hours ...regular studies are important as it is a very tough competition so whatever you study study it completely.

Can I crack Civil Services Prelims exam after regular study of 10 hours in a day?

I wanted to know if starting from today, would the time be enough to clear Civil Service prelims. I just quit my job and I can dedicate 10 odd hours a day. I already have the relevant study materials. Please advice. Ty.
