After clearing preliminary exam of civil services exam you don't need to go here and there but just start your preparation for Mains as it is more tough then Prelims and you have ample time to prepare for it and also check the syllabus and pattern and accordingly prepare and for more information you can check it on www.upsc.gov.in

hi,

you have nothing to do just follow some way and you will reach to you destination:

ways:

1. you have to choose 2 subject from 34 sunject list that is on www.upsc.gov.in.

2. after selection you have 4 compulsury subject that is baesd on gk and all.

3. you also have eassy writting and finally.

4. if you cleared this all subject then you have to clear personal interview.

and then you are at your destination.

Really it is a very good question.Lots of candidates are confused What to do after clearing the CSAT?

Friend,there is almost five months gap between the preliminary examination and main examination.For example the preliminary examination for CSE 2013 will be held in may and main examination in november.

So do not waste your time after clearing preliminary test.Try to give as much as emphasis on the subjects which you have chosen for the main examinations.try to work out the previous year papers of civil services examinations.

There is one more option for you is that you may even join any coaching institute like:

1.Rau's IAS academy

2.Chanakya's IAS academy

3.Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy

4.Khan study group.

There are lots of intellectuals available at these institute who will guide you in the best way to achieve good marks in the main examinations and will aslo train you about the personal interview.

So if you belong that coaching is necessary for you ,then do not hesitate or if you believe that you can do yourself then try to do as much as self study as possible .

Hello friend,
civil service exam is one of the prestigious exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various All India Service.
The exam consist of 3 different stages.
1.preliminary-The preliminary exam shall now comprise of 2 compulsory paper of 200 marks each & of 2 hrs duration each.the question are of objective types.
it is just a qualifying exam.The mark of the exam can not added in the Final exam.
2.Main exam (written)-candidates are allow to choose 2 optional subject from the following subject.all the question papers for the exam will be conventional essay type.each paper will be 3 hrs duration each.
3.Interview- After qualify the main exam the final stage is interview to test their personality & mental ability.
Then the candidate who have secured good rank go for training .After completion of training they are posted as per requirement of the central & state Govt. organizations.

some suggestions:

dont wait and waste your time dive in to very serious preparation.you dont have enough time in hand.

you hardly have one month left ih hand.ideally you should be revising your optionals

you should prepare for the whole syllabus thoroughly and you should allocate sufficient time for preparation and dont rush through the syllabus.

start preparin them intensively covering whole of the syllabus.

so no shortcuts.work hard no other option is available.

consisitency is very importatnt to crack the civil services exam.

you should daily prepare your current affairs without any break.

dont read too much material.make notes for all the topics and revise them regularly.

dont research with the topics and cover swiftly but with clarity

practice how to write answers also and try to manage time while writing answers.

if possible you can join some test series to check how you are answering to the qusetions and make necessary corrections with your answering style.
