Following tips must be effective for beginners for civil service examination or any other competitive examination are:

-- Daily devote atleast 8-10 hours of study for the preparation for examination.
-- Try to solve daily old and model question papers in order to get familiar with the pattern and nature of the question paper and examination pattern.
-- Try to go through all the NCERT books of the concerned subjects.
-- Daily read the any national level newspaper for keeping yourself updated with all important national and international events.
-- Daily listen the news on TV
-- Take Vitamin C rich diet daily in order to keep your memory power and concentration level high.
-- Take healthy and nutritious diet in order to keep your body healthy.
-- Perform Yoga postures and aerobic exercises daily to keep body fit and mind active.

The Exam Pattern of UPSC exam is given as :-



So you must have to make your time table according to the exam .

You must have to give the more time to those subjects in which you are weak.

Always be in contacts with the newspapers, internet etc. for the current news.

Your general knowledge must be strong.
