Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Indian Forest Service Examination

A bachelor's degree in any one of the following disciplines from a recognized university

Agriculture
Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
Botany
Chemistry
Engineering Any discipline
Forestry
Geology
Mathematics
Physics
Statistics
Zoology

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear as for as my knowledge is concerned that there is no subject in the list which is separate under the BDS degree so that you can not apply for this examination but if you have any one subject from the list in your BDS degree then that subject can make you eligible to apply for that examination means if you have studied - Chemistry or Zoology or any other subject in your BDS degree separately then only you can apply for this examination otherwise you can not but you may apply for following examination

Eligibility for UPSC Civil Service Examination

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age follows same as mentioned above

You can apply for this examination within these dates

Start date for online application - 05-03-2013

Last date for online application - 04-04-2013

Date for UPSC civil service exam - 26-05-2013

Dear friend

IFS stands for the Indian Forest services.This examination is conducted once every year by the UPSC.

BDS stands for the Bachelor of dental surgery .It is a bachelor's degree in surgery.For IFS exam ,you need to have bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least one of the following subjects in your graduation that are :

>>Animal husbandry

>>Veterinary science

>>Geology

>>Physics,chemistry,mathematics,statistics

>>Forestery,agriculture and bachelor's degree in engineering.

So friend if you have read any one of the above mentioned subjects in your graduation then you are 100% eligible for the IFS exams.

The age limitations for this examination is as below:

The minimum age limit is 21 years and the upper age limit depends upon the category to which you belong:

OBC:33 years

General:30 years

SC/ST : 35 years.

The no of attempts are also similar to civil services examinations that is four or general,seven for obc and no limit for sc/st respectively.

Note: The important dates for the IFS 2013 are not yet announced ,so you should keep visiting www.upsc.gov.in for further updates.

Indian Forest Service Exam Eligibility Criteria's:-

>>Nationality:- The Candidate Should be Citizen of India.

>>Age Limits:- The Candidate Must Have attained the Age of 21.

>>Educational Qualification:- The Candidate must hold a bachelor Degree with at least one of the Subjects (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry,Geology or in Any Engineering Course From Recognized Univeristy

>>Number Of Attempts:- For General Candidates 4 attempts and for SC/ST Candidates 7 Attempts and for OBC Candidates 7 attempts

>>Physical Standards:-The Candidate must be physically fit for this examination

Yes friend, BDS degree holder can apply for the Indian Forest Service exam.

This exam is organized by the Union Public Service commission once in a year at national level.

Qualifications for the IFS exam
=========================

You should be minimum graduation qualified in any branch from valid university or its equivalent.

You can also apply in final year of graduation.

You must be in age of 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation to eligible categories

SC/ST + 5 years

OBC + 3 years

PH + 10 years

You must be the citizen of India.

If you satisfy the above criteria, you can apply for the IFS exam.

you are not eligible for IFS exam.

IFS exam stands for INDIAN FOREST SERVICES.

IFS exam eligibility;-

---you must be passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university in the following stream;-

******botany

--zoology


---math

---stat

--physics

---chemistry

--graduation in forestry, agricultural

---b.tech in agricultural refereeing

****General age limit is 21-30 years.

---age relaxation is given to reserved category students.

----you must be Indian citizen

----you must be physically fit.

this exam consist a written exam;-
paper 1-general English-300 marks

paper 2-general knowledge-300 marks

paper 3,4,5,6-any two papers selected from the list of optional subject-200 marks for each paper

after clearing this exam you will be called PI test.

personal interview-300 marks.

I am really sorry to tell you that you can not give the IFS exam because for the IFS exam an candidate must have a degree in the following subjects:-

>Animal Husbandry

>>Agriculture

>>Agriculture Engineering

>>Veternary

>>Botany

>>Chemistry

>>Physics

>>Mathematics

>>Geology


>>Zoology

>>Statistics

>>Forestry


So you can not apply for the exam because you do not have degree from any of these streams.
