    this is sorry to inform you that being a graduate in applied electronics and instrumentation engineering, you are not allowed to sit in the IES exam because there are only 4 branches which are eligible of giving the IES exam. they are
    mechanical engineering
    civil engineering
    electrical engineering
    electronics and communication engineering

    yes an ece student can appear for ies examination., it depends upon the dedication and hardwork of an individual to crack any exam., if you can show these you can definitely crack ies exam

    IES exam stands for Indian engineering services.This exm is conducted by upsc.

    Eligibility;-

    ----you must be passed a engineering degree from a recognized in the following branch;-

    civil, mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication

    ---age limit is 21-30 years.

    --you must be Indian citizen.

    Age relaxation;-

    3 years for obc category, 5 years for sc/st category

    Number of attempts;-

    General-4 times

    obc -7 times

    sc/st-no limit

    you must hard work to crack this exam.you start preparation from now.

    some preparation tips;-

    ----read news paper daily and watch tv news daily

    ------follow best books and know exam pattern very well

    -----join any best coaching center

    -----share new things with others

    Yes, applied electronics and instrumentation engineering students can give the ies exam IF you satisfy the criteria mentioned below:

    The criteria for appearing in IES Exam is :
    1. Nationality : Indian
    2. Academic qualification : Engineering graduate in any stream from any recognized university.
    3. Age limits : 21-30 (OPEN), 21-33 (OBC), 21-35(sc/st).
    4. Attempts : OPEN-4 , OBC-7 ,SC/ST-9 .
    No such percentage criteria is given for applying for IES Exam.

    Below average students too can crack the exam if you are determined and are ready to work hard.

    You can prepare for CSE in the following ways:
    1. The reference books for various subjects can be found on net.
    2. Prepare your own Comprehensive notes.
    3. Use memory techniques. Memory techniques is a smart way of learning.
    4. Manage time efficiently.
