you can eligible depend on your age criteria because you didn't mention that clearly there is no percentage barrier to appear for CDS exam. CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. CDS is conducted by UPSC twice a year.

The basic eligibility criteria's for CDS Exam are as follows:

Nationality: A candidate must be either
(a) A citizen of India
(b) A subject of Nepal
(c) A subject of Bhutan

Age Limit: Male candidates (Unmarried) of age between
For IMA: 19-24 years.
For OTA: Male candidates (married or unmarried) of age between 19-25 years.
For OTA: Unmarried Women of age between 19-24 years.

Educational Qualification:
(i) For I.M.A. and OTA: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
(ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Final year students can also apply.

after 12th standard,you can join Indian army by applying NDA exam.

NDA exam as well as CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

IMA exam eligibility;-

1)You must be passed graduation from a recognized university. there is no percentage requirement.

2)Age limit is 19-24 years.

3)you must be Indian citizen.

Eligibility for UPSC NDA - National Defense Academy Examination

Indian Military : Candidate should have passed in class 12th in any discipline from a recognized board

Indian Navy : Candidate should have passed class 12th with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject from a recognized board

Indian Air Force : Candidate should have passed class 12th with physics and mathematics as a compulsory subject from a recognized board

Age should not be less than 16.5 years and more than 19 years

You have enough eligibility criteria to apply for all sections of UPSC NDA examination and you can apply for this examination between these following dates

Start date for online application - 04-05-2013

Last date for online application - 03-06-2013

Date for UPSC NDA Examination - 11-08-2013

Examination Pattern for UPSC NDA Examination

Mathematics - 300 marks

General Ability test - 600 marks

Both papers would be conducted in objective type pattern and qualifying in both papers is compulsory and if you once qualify then you will be called for SSB Interview and Personality test and if you perform well in that test then you will be finally selected under NDA and will get a job in defense sector

Yes you are eligible to join IMA through CDS & NDA exam conducted by UPSC.
Eligibility Criteria for I.M.A in CDS :-
1ST......Age should be between 19 years and 24 years and only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
2ND.....Graduation in any desire subject from any recognized university or equivalent qualification.
RD........Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.

Basic eligibility required for NDA are:------

1ST- You are eligible for NDA after 10+2 exam.
2ND--only unmarried male candidates are eligible.
3RD--candidates appearing in 12th class can also apply.

You are not eligible for IMA entry, because you can get entry in Indian military academy through CDS exam conducted by UPSC on national basis. Basic requirement of this exam are as follows
Candidate should be graduate or studying in last year.
Indian citizen
Age should lies between 19 to 24 years.

So my friend as you mentioned that you are B.E. first year student so you do not fulfill basic need of this exam and one thing i want to tell you that there are not any percentage required for this exam you just have passing marks but you need to crack the exam.

There is percentage restriction for the NDA exam .If you are in the age of 16.5-19 years the you can join the Indian Army through the NDA exam. If you are in the above age limit then you are eligible for the NDA exam. This exam you can attempt even if you are in the first year of the graduation. But you have to in the age limit as said above.

If you are not in the Age limit of the NDA then you can also apply for the Indian Military after the graduation also. You can apply for the CDS exam after the graduation .Through this exam you can join the Indian Military Academy.

Education Qualification

You should complete the graduation from the recognized college or University. In the graduation you should have minimum of 60% overall aggregate

Single

The exam will be conducted by the UPSC in the different centers in the Indian.

IMA stands for the Indian Military academy.There are two ways to enter into this academy.

First one is that you should clear the NDA entrance examinations.For this examinations,your age must be between 16.5 to 19 years and you must be 10+2 passed/appearing with english and mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board.

You must be unmarried male Indian.

Since ,you are in 1st year of bachelor of engineering your age must be below19 years.So you can go for the NDA examinations which will be held in august 2013.

Examination pattern of NDA:

Second one is that after completing your bachelor's degree in engineering ,you should go for the CDS examinations.

CDS stands for the Combined defence services exam .It is conducted twice every year.

For army you can join NDA after 12th
Age should be between 16.5-19 year
Must be Unmarried

For IMA (Indian Military Academy) you would appear in CDS (combined Defence Service) exam

For IMA must be Graduate any stream from any recognized university

Age should be between 19-24 year

to join ima through upsc there are two exams which you can try. one is nda and the other one is cds.
on the basis of 12th you can apply for upsc nda exam
and on the basis of graduation you can apply for upsc cds exam
there is no percentage bar for upsc candidates so you can apply any one of these exam leaving your percentage aside.

to apply for nda
you need to be an Indian
you need to be a male
you must have passed 12th with maths and english as subjects
your age should be between 16.5-19 years

secondly to apply for upsc cds exam
you need to be an Indian
you must have completed graduation in any stream if you are applying for ima or ota and if you are applying for air force then you need physics and maths as subjects in your graduation.
age limit for ima is 19-24 years
for ota is 21-25 years
for Indian af it is 19-22 years .

there is no percentage bar for IMA exam.

Eligibility Criteria:

1. For IMA you just need to complete your graduation or bachelors of Engineering.
2. For IMA your age must be within 19 years to 24 years and there is no relaxation for any category.

dear let me inform you that there is no percentage bar required in the upsc exams,
you just need to get the passing percentage in the graduation from a recognized university,

eligibility criteria:

candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university.
final year appearing candiadates can also apply for the upsc exam.
age limit for upsc exam is 21 to 30 years.
candidates belonging to OBC and SC/ST category gets age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years respectively.

And you have to give the exam cds if you want to go

In the indian military cds stands for common defence services
