The Full Form Of IAS is Indian Administrative Services. If being a Chartered Accountant you want to join the Indian Administrative Services , then you have to crack the Civil Services Examination which is conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

In order to appear in the Civil Services Exam , you ahve to fulfill the following eligibility criteria :

* You must hold a Bachelor`s Degree in any stream from any recognized college/university.

* Candidates in final year pursuing graduation are also eligibel to appear in the exam.

* The Age Limit For Civil Services Exam is :

a) For General Candidates : 21-30 years

b) For OBC Candidates : 21-33 years

c) For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 years

* The Candidate must have Indian Nationality.

* Maximum Number of Attempts :

a) For General Candidates : 4

b) For OBC Candidates : 7

c) For SC/ST Candidates : No Limitations

The Civil Services Exam is conducted in three phases :

1) Preliminary Examination

2) MAINS Examination

3) Personal Interview

You can apply for IAS Exam if you have Bachelor Degree from Recognized University, Because for UPSC Exam minimum education qualification is Graduation in any field from Recognized University.

Final Year Candidate can also apply from UPSC Exam, but candidate should verify before mains exam if he/she Clears prelims exam.

>> Age limit is 21-30 years

>> You can give Following times Attempt according to Category:

General Category: 4 Attempts

OBC: 7 Attempts

PH: 7 Attempts

SC/ST: No Limits

to become an ias officer you have to apply for civil services
to apply for civil services you need to satisfy the following conditions
1.you should have completed a degree
2.you should be between 21 to 30 yrs

Eligibility for IAS examination

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear if you are pursuing CA course of 4 years then you are eligible to apply for this exam but dear you will be eligible to apply only after coming in final year or after the completion of your course and if you have completed your course then you may apply for this examination between - 05-03-2013 to 04-04-2013 and you can appear for UPSC preliminary examination at - 26-05-2013 so that deaf if you have enough eligibility then you should apply for this examination at - www.upsc.gov.in and get more details about this examination

Yes, surely, any graduate in the recognized university are eligible for appearing the examination. But you have to fulfill the age limit condition. candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university,
it does not matters with which stream he/she completed graduation or engineering.


Eligibility criteria for exams conducted by upsc:

1. Candidate must have completed graduation or engineering from a recognized university .
2. candidates who appearing in final year of graduation or engineering can also apply for the upsc exams.
3. age limit for the upsc exams is 21 to 30 years.
4. age relaxation of 3 years is given to those candidates who belongs to OBC category .
5. age relaxation of 5 years is given to those candidates who belongs to sc category.
