Re: Difference between exam conducted by UPSC and SSC? Which one between the two is considered tough? UPSC recruits candidates for group A and B posts, both gazetted and non- gazetted. It is the commission which recruits top most bureaucrats like IAS, IPS,IRS,IES etc. SSC recruits candidates for non- gazetted group B and C posts which are lower in rank to that of the posts offered by UPSC. Generally UPSc exams are tougher because it selects people for the most challenging and top most positions in our country. So the questions will be a tough test on the candidates' abilities. And lakhs of candidates are fighting for minimum of posts ( in 2012 - 1031 vacancies). So its very tough. On the other hand, SSC exams are relatively easier when compared to that of UPSC. But in SSC exams, time management will be the most critical factor to succeed. If you have dedicated hard work for then you can clear any exam, be it tough or easy

Re: Difference between exam conducted by UPSC and SSC? Which one between the two is considered tough? dear friend both the exams are conducted by the central government only so both are of equal importance but UPSC generally conducts exam or all the A rade government jobs like civil services , combined defense services etc whereas SSC conducts the exam for all the grade B or C government jobs .The pattern of examination is same for both the examination but if you compare then UPSc exams need much hard-work.
