Re: Can I write IES exam having only 60% in graduation (B.Tech ECE)?

No there is no requirement for the specified percentage of marks while giving the IES exam. you just need to be a graduate in any of the following fields
    Mechanical
    Electrical
    Civil
    Electronics
And your age should be in between 21-30 years of age
A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st students respectively

Eligibility for UPSC Indian Engineering Service Examination 2013

You must have a bachelor's degree or completed your graduation in any one of the following engineering disciplines from a recognized university or institute or board

    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Engineering

Dear for your kind information that there is no problem that you have less marks in your degree which you have completed with ECE Stream and finally you are eligible to apply for this examination and you can apply for this examination between these following dates

Start date for online application - 16-03-2013

Last date for online application - 15-04-2013

Date for UPSC IES Examination - 28-06-2013

Dear if you are preparing for UPSC Engineering service examination then i would like to say that you have completed your degree and you should not get involve in any other PG course because it would distribute your mind and you will not be able to keep your preparation continue in that situation that is why you need to focus only on IES preparation because there is no more time left to prepare for this exam but if you start your preparation from now then you may easily cover the syllabus and revise that again more than one time that is why i would like to suggest you that you should give more than 10 hours everyday if you seriously wants to crack this year's IES examination and for other details about this examination as Examination Pattern, Online Application, Payment etc. are mentioned properly in the attached notification

    =================================================

    Hi,

IES exam stands for Indian Engineering Services exam. The entrance exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment to the posts of Indian Engineering Service. IES are the technical services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the government of India. The middle management positions in the bureaucracy are filled through competitive exams. Large number of people take these exams competing for limited seats. It is considered to be one of the toughest exams due to the limited number of seats available.

As far as the eligibility criteria is concerned, the candidate must hold a degree in Engineering or equivalent. Provided that a candidate applying for the posts of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Engineer Group A in Wireless Planning & Coordination Wing/Monitoring Organisation may possess M.Sc. Degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.

Hence you qualify for the exam!!!
But make sure that you also fulfill the age criteria for the exam!

Keep doing hard work and burn your night lamps!
Best of Luck for the exam!
