1.You must be passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university
2.Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years
3.Final year candidates are also eligible
4.There is no percentage requirement
5.You must be unmarried male Indian citizen.

Hi,

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services Exam. CDS is conducted by UPSC twice a year.

The basic eligibility criteria's for CDS Exam are as follows:

Educational Qualification:
~~~ For I.M.A. and OTA: Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
~~~ For Indian Naval Academy: Degree in Engineering.

Final year students can also apply.


Age Limit: Male candidates (Unmarried) of age between

>>> For IMA: 19-24 years.
>>> For Indian Naval Academy: 19-22 years.
>>> For OTA: Male candidates (married or unmarried) of age between 19-25 years.
>>> For OTA: Unmarried Women of age between 19-24 years.

Nationality: A citizen of India

• You may join the Indian army by applying in the national defence academy (NDA) examination if the qualification of your's is class 12 th.
• The age of your's need to be in between 16.5 years to 19 years.
• You must be an male student and also unmarried student for it.
• If your's qualification is Graduation, then apply for the combined defence services (CDS) examination.
• The age limit here stated is 19 years to 24 years.
• For it also, you must be an unmarried student.

Application to different post in the Indian Army totally depends upon what is your qualification and which exam you want to give in order to join the Indian Army.There are several examinations after clearing which you can join the Indian Army.

1.National defense services examinations:

>>10+2 passed/appearing candidates can apply for the exams.Your age should be between 16.5 to 19 years in order to apply for the exam.You must be unmarried male Indian citizen.

How to apply:

In order to apply for the exams,you need to register yourself at the www.upsconline.nic.in.After that you can fill online form by providing your important personal details and pay the required examination fee through the debit card/credit card or net banking or SBI challan form depending upon your convenience.


2.The second option for you if you want to join the army as an officer is Technical entry scheme.If you want to apply for this exam you must have secured at least 75% marks in PCM from a recognized board.

The official website at which you can apply online is joinindianarmy.nic.in.After filling the online form ,you will have to send the application form to the specified address.

3.University Entry scheme.

>>For this exam ,you must be in the final year of your bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.For this examination you should fill the online form at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

4.One more option is the Combined defense services.If you are a graduate or in final year of bachelor's degree and having age in the range 19-25 years.This examination is conducted twice every year .

You can fill the online form this examinations at www.upsconline.nic.in just as like NDA.

You can become an army officer by nda,cds,ies,ssc. these are the exams conducted by the upsc., you can get notifications from the website or from the employment daily.

You can join Officer post in Indian army through IMA exam.

IMA exam stands for Indian military academy which is conducted UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility for IMA exam;-

------You must be passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university.There is no percentage requirement.

----Final year candidates are also eligible.

----Age limit is 19-24 years.

----You must be Indian citizen as well as physically fit.
