it is a negative point that thee is no any optional subject related to computer science ,

but you have no need to worry because you have to choose two optional subjects

and i think that you know very well about physics and mathematics


so i think you should choose physics and mathematics as your optional main subjects in mains examination ...

Hi Friend!

First, you need to know what is UPSC.

UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE).

CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.


To say exactly, we may consider it as a negative point itself.

But, the UPSC is concentrating only on the core subjects.

Computer science Engineering has emerged just before 10-15 yrs ago.

So, In future, we night expect Computer Science as one of the subjects.

But there are many other subjects you can choose from.

Yes their is no optional subjects for the computer students

But don't take it in wrong way or negative way

As my friend the syllabus of the exam is almost coming at the 10th level

So you should not need to worry

As you can choose maths as an optional subjects

As also the subjects like History and economics are also good

Because these arts subjects are easy and scoring subjects

And at 8th standard you have studies these subjects very much

Also they will help in increasing your general knowledge

But all will depend on you

So choose the optional subjects in which you are strong

Yes my friend it is negative point for the CSE student because in the optional subject list there are no such CSE related subject .
There are only core branch like Mechanical , Civil , Electrical related subject .
But you know the maths well so that you can select that subject as a one optional subject .
But the problem is what about the second subject ?
You may select that subject based on your interest because there are no such options available for you .
You have to select one of the optional subject in following list incorporate to Maths subject.

yes, as compared to ARTS and other category of group it might be a negative point for computer science students.

i am persuing btechfrom cs branch.and there are no such optional subject related to my branch.that is to be choosen to get through the pre and main entrance,so is it a negative point for those students.other than the people persuing those subjects?
