    Please follow these steps for Preparation of General Studies:

    >> Please Collect Books of 8 to 12th standard like History, Geography, Sociology, Indian Constitution and English.

    >> Start Reading it and Daily Reading of Newspaper like The Hindu.

    >> Regular Reading of Magazine like Chronicle, Yojana, Kurukshetra, Pratiyogita Darpan, India Today.

    >> Daily Watching of News on TV is must.

    If you complete above all then after Start Reading NCERT book for General Studies.

    There are 3 stages in IAS selection process which candidate need to clear in order to become IAS officer.

    � Preliminary Examination
    � Main Examination
    � Interview


    You will get to the other stage only if you clear the previous one.

    Preliminary Examination is divided into two parts,Part I consist all the questions related to General Studies where as Part Second consist all the question related to reasoning and mathematics.

    Preliminary Examination Pattern

    Paper 1

    � Current events of national and international importance
    � History of India and Indian National Movement
    � Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic
    � Indian Polity and Governance- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
    � Economic and Social Development- Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives etc.
    � General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change that do not require subject specialization
    � General Science

    Duration of Examination - 120 minutes
    Marks of examination - 200
