but I read that,

IES is INDIAN ECONOMIC SERVICES

Which is the one in IES?ISS exam?

IES stands for Indian Engineering Services

IES Eligibility criteria:

1)Candidate must be a Indian
2)Must hold the Bachelor's degree in any recognization university
3)Age limit:

*For General 21 to 30 years
*For OBC 21 to 33 years
*For Sc/St 21 to 35 years.

ies officers are like ias officers
they have the salary and privileges like ias officers
their job is to look after the engineering works taken by the government and the work given to the private compsny by the government

hi

in the present scenario and the coming years engineering will be the evergreen boon for the govt and private sector.

so you do not need to worry more.if in case you did not get a chance to join defense then you can go with private company as per the specialization.

in IES (indian engineering service),only candidates who has done with engineering can only apply for the exam.so you have the opportunity to try for the exam.
engineering is an ever green subject,where everyone field required it.

so not to be worry,you can give IES exam,if can not clear then you can go in private company also

IES exam held once in a year ,held by upsc

make sure you satisfy the eligibility criteria

I.E.S -- INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES

The minimum qualification must be Bachelor Professional Degree

And IES officers will be EXPOSED to the all the Departments of Government ... functioning generally

And No worry

There will be a lot of scope for the I.E.S officers

Getting selected is Tough


As you are a Electronics and Communication engineer you are definitely eligible to apply for it
