IES is Indian Engineering Services and the qualification is following:-

You must be passed graduate in engineering or final year appearing from the recognized university.
Age should be 21 to 30 years.
Age relaxation for obc 3 years, for sc/st 5 years, for ex-servicemen 10 years.NO OF ATTEMPTS:-For general = 4 times
For obc = 7 timesFor sc/st = no limits.

There are 4 attempts for general category and for obc category they can write 7 times and for sc/st any number of times they can write.
IES exam are conducted once in a year.Those students who have completed their B.Tech in the streams of civil,electronics,mechanical,telecommunications and electrical are eligible for the test.It consists of three sections to determine the students talent one is by writing in two papers and the other is by interview

• UPSC has not stated any information regarding the number of attempts. So students can apply for it any number of times provided your's age must be in the limit.
• The age limit prescribed for it is 21 years to 30 years.
• Age relaxations of 3 years is given to obc category and 5 years to sc/st category students.
• You must have the degree of engineering from an recognised university.
• The application procedure of upcoming exam has already completed, so you need to apply in next year.
