Re: Eligibility criteria for Foreign Services examination? dear aspirant, for IFS(Indian Foreign Services) you have to write Civil Services exam. for Civil Services you need graduation degree from recognized college or university with any percentage. Civil Services exam is conducted by UPSC every year. despite from that your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. There is also available relaxation in upper age limit according to government norms as 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Civil Services exam is conducted in three phases and you have to clear all the phases to become an IFS officer. The three phases are CSAT(Prelims), Mains and Interview there is also applicable limit of number of attempts like 4 for General, 7 for OBC and there is no limit of number of attempts for SC/ST candidates. note the all the criteria mentioned by me is according to latest UPSC notification for 2013. and you have asked for 2017 and it is not possible to tell what will happen in future. If you are interested in the IFS examination you have to satisfy the below conditions. You should complete the graduation in any discipline from any recognized university. And final year students also apply for this examination. And your age should be 21 years to 30 years.And the relaxation age will be applicable for ST/SC/OBC candidates. For OBC:3 years. This exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for the recruitment of candidates in the following wings of defense service: IMA NA AFA OTA The age limit for the CDS exam is 19 to 25 years and there is no relaxation in age for any category. So friend you can apply for this exam until you complete the age of 25 years. You should be graduated in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent. You must be Indian.

Habit of reading Magazine for competitive exams like Chronicle. Daily watching of news on television. Develop habit of reading books related to competitive exams and Novels of Writer. Daily 5-6 hour reading is needed.
