Relaxation in upper age in UPSC Civil Service Examination

5 years upper age relaxation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Category candidates

5 years for Ex-Servicemen Category candidates

3 years for OBC - Other Backward Class Category candidates

5 years for those candidates who had been domiciled in Jammu Kashmir State during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989

3 years of upper age relaxation for those candidates who have been disabled during the hostilities with any foreign countries under defense service

5 years for ECOs and SSCOs means same as ex-servicemen category candidates

10 years for Physically Handicapped Candidates - PWD, PH etc.

So that you can see complete upper relaxation relaxation criteria which is provided by UPSC board so you belongs to OBC category and you will get 3 years of upper age relaxation and your age will be increased to 33 years from 30 which is basic maximum age limit for civil service examination and presently you are in 32 years of age so there is no problem

If you have claimed for upper age relaxation in UPSC civil service examination then you have got it because your application form has been accepted but if you did not enter the code of OBC then it would be a big problem for you because selection of the code is compulsory but you should not worry and prepare for your preliminary exam which is going to be conducted at 26th May 2013 and if you qualify then you may correct your mistake during to apply for mains exam

for giving the upsc exam being an obc student, you will be getting 3 extra years as relaxation, and if you want to claim your relaxation, you don�t need to put on any code for that. You need to fill the form and there will be the option available which will ask you the obc relaxation details and you need to fill that. Moreover you need to carry your obc certificate while the interview process which will prove that you are a candidate who belongs from the obc category.

UPSC -- Union Public Service Commission

Generally UPSC conducts so many exams

So all the exams approximately follow the same near eligibility criteria

And for that OBC STUDENTS get "" 3 YEARS of age relaxation ""


So generally the minimum age is 21 years

Maximum age is allowed up to 30 years


Including the AGE RELAXATION ... the maximum age is allowed up to "" 33 years ""

In UPSC exam the age limit is 21-30 for general,

But OBC Candidates are provided 3 year of Age Relaxation.

Yes, You can Apply for IAS Prelims.

It is nice that you want to join UPSC civil service aptitude test.

If you are OBC candidates, then you will be get 3 years age relaxation.

General age limit is 21-30 years.

For OBC,

Age limit is 21-33 years.

When you fill online application of CSAT,then you have TO FILL YOUR ALL DETAILS ON THE FIRST PAGES OF csat application,

on the next pages, you will be get first option of age relaxation claim consisting(Either yes/no) means age relaxation claim you want to take or not.

Good Evening,

I am 32yrs running now and I belong to OBC. when I applied for an IAS prelims
2013, I couldn't continue from the part-I without entering the age relaxation
category code.

As I am not aware of age relaxation category code I am unable to continue.

Pls help me to know the age relaxation code.
