All India Main Civil Services Examination

Indian Administrative Service
India Foreign Service
Indian Police Service


Minimum Eligibility for Civil Sevices

• Graduation/Post Graduation from recognized university
• fitness level set by UPSC
• Age - 21 to 30 years

Some Relaxation is provided to sc/St/obc candidate/some other candidates.

There are 3 level in Civil Services

Preliminary exam (csat)
Main exam
Personal Interview


New Preliminary Examination Pattern

Paper 1

� Current events of national and international importance
� History of India and Indian National Movement
� Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic
� Indian Polity and Governance- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
� Economic and Social Development- Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives etc.
� General Issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-Diversity and Climate Change that do not require subject specialization
� General Science

Paper 2

� Comprehension
� Interpersonal skills including communication skills
� Logical reasoning and Analytical Ability
� Decision making and Problem solving
� General Mental ability
� Basic numeracy.
� English language comprehension skills.

New Main Exam Pattern



It is tough examination but if average student has serious dedication towards it's preparation than even he/she can clear this examination.
