Sociology has very little to do with CDSE exam as in CDSE three papers are set for examination
1)English
2)Maths
3)GK

You will have parts of sociology only in GK not any where,few questions will be there related to sociology.
But in IAS,sociology have a great part to play as it is included as a subject in IAS subjects list,where you will have to study sociology as a whole subject but in CDSE it has less importance.

Friend, Sociology is one of the most important, scoring and popular subject in the Civil Service Examination. In civil service examination, candidate have to opt any two optional subjects from the list for the examination. There are many others subjects which are equally important & scoring are Geography, History, Political Science, etc. There are three stages of examination mentioned below: * Preliminary Examination * Mains Examination * InterviewBut as far as the CDS Examination is concerned, subject Sociology has hardly any role in it. There is no any place of Sociology in the prescribed syllabus for CDS Examination. The recruitment process and nature of examination is entirely differ from Civil Service Examination.

Sociology is an optional subject for IAS. You can select Anthropology as combination with sociology. But if you are not good at Sociology, no need to worry you can go for other subjects as well.

At first CDS exam is conducted to join Defence services after graduation degree. CDS exam consist General English, General studies and math papers.

It also consist Gk papers also.

Therefore, Sociology can play a small role in CDS exam.

On the other hand, IAS exam is conducted by UPSC to join IAS officer post.

IAS exam consist preliminary exam and Mains exam

To crack this exam ,you have to choose Optional subjects like Sociology.

You can get best marks in Sociology like subject to crack this exam.

There are many part of study that are important in Civil Service Exam.

Like:

History,

Sociology.

Geography,

Indian Constitution,

English.

>> But Sociology is important then all other and has large data.
