No dear we do not force anyone to use NCERT Books but we every time suggest all aspirants that they should read NCERT all level books in the preparation of civil service examination because there are so many relevant and profitable informations available in NCERT books for all IAS and other competitive examination aspirants and sometime we have seen that many questions comes from that part which is clearly mentioned in NCERT books and that is the basic level of IAS Syllabus that is why you must prefer NCERT books in case of IAS examination preparation and i am sure that you will definitely get advantage of these books and you may use other previous years question papers for this examination because practicing on previous years question papers is compulsory

If you will use some model and previous years question papers then you will get enough knowledge about exam and question pattern which is compulsory to know before appearing for examination and you may also manage the time in exam because of your previous practice so there are many source of study for IAS exam but use only those which are authentic

we cannot say that NCERT is a cumpolsary set of books which are needed to prepare for the civil services but yes this is a fact, that your concepts and fundamentals get strong while reading the books published by the NCERT. And it is highly recommended for you that you should go for the NCERT books while preparing for the civil services exam.

You can check your preparation by solving previous year question papers. That is the only way closest for checking preparation.NCERT book gives you the ebst chance to prepare with compact and to the point study material.But NCERT books are not the only way of preparation.If you have found out better options then it is good for your preparation.You can check the NCERT books and then you can also complete if something is missing from your preparation.NCERT books are not compulsory but they are immensely helpful as their level of content and syllabus is helpful for Civil services.
