    The acronym for UPSC is Union Public Service Commission.


    Civil Services examination is conducted by UPSC every year for IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS.


    The eligibility criteria required for the civil services examination are prescribed as below:-

    * Completion of graduation in any stream from any recognized college or university.

    * Final year contenders are also eligible.

    * Percentage criteria is not required.

    * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs.

    * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBC and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders.

    * No. of attempts:- 4 for General, 7 for OBC and no limits for SC/ST contenders.

    * Nationality:- Indian.

    The Civil Services Exam is the most prestigious exam conducted every year by the Union Public Service Commission.

    Through this exam , successful candidates are selected in any of the following :

    * Indian Administrative Services

    * Indian Police Services

    * Indian Revenue Services

    * Indian Foreign Services

    The Civil Services Exam is also considered as one of the toughest examinations among all the examinations conducted every year.

    This is because in order to crack the Civil Services Examination , you need to pass three individual examinations separately. These Three Examinations are :

    1) Preliminary Examination

    2) MAINS Examination

    3) Personal Interview

    So , if you want to be recruited in any of the above mentioned services , then you must have to pass in all these three examinations as these three examinations are the three steps of the Civil Services Examination which needs to be cracked if a candidate wants to crack the Civil Services Examination.

    Various steps in UPSC civil services examination;-

    1-UPSC announced Recruitment for civil services job every year.

    2-Choose in which civil services you want to work/job

    3-Read exam pattern as well as other details

    4-Civil services exam mainly consist three stages;-

    ****preliminary exam(CSAT)

    ****Mains exam

    ****Interview

    Preliminary exam consist;-

    Paper 1-General studies-200 marks having 2 hours duration

    Paper 2- CSAT -200 marks having 2 hours duration

    preliminary exam 19th may 2013.

    preliminary exam all question objective type with negative marking also.


    Mains exam consist;-

    paper 1-one of the Indian language

    paper 2-English

    paper 3-Essay

    paper 4 and 5-General studies

    Paper 6,7,8,9-your optional subject papers

    Mains exam is conducted by upsc in october month of this year

    After clearing these two exam ,you will be called for personality test.

    for giving the upsc civil services examination, you need to be a graduate from a recognized indian university and your age should be in between 21-30 years of age.
    There are three main stages in the recruitment of the upsc posts-
    1. Prelimns stage in which the paper is conducted in the objective format
    2. The second stage is the mains exam, in which the paper is conducted in the subjective format.
    3. And the last stage is the personal interview

    Here are the steps and Procedure of Civil Services Examination and Recruitment:

    >> There are Three Steps in Civil Service Exam:

    1) Prelims Exam

    2) Mains Exam

    3) Personal Interview

    >> Procedure of Examination:

    >> First Notification of Exam is Released

    >> Candidate fill form for Preferred Post.

    >> Than Date of Prelim Exam is Released.

    >> Prelim Exam is Conducted after 1 and Half month

    >> After Prelims Exams Result is declare and candidate who have cleared Prelims will fill form for mains Exam and Select Subject

    >> Main Exam is conducted and after 1 and Half month Result is Declared.

    >> The Candidate who have cleared Mains exam will face Personal Interview.

    >> After Personal Interview, Name of Candidate is Declared and Appointed for Appropriate
    post.

    List of all main Civil Services Examination

    Indian Administrative Service
    India Foreign Service
    Indian Police Service


    There are 3 stages in Civil Services Examination selection process which candidate need to clear in order to become IAS officer.

    � Preliminary Examination
    � Main Examination
    � Interview




    You will get to the other stage only if you clear the previous one.
