Re: Can I apply for engineering services exam being a diploma holder in mechanical engineering stream?

    hi
Im sorry but you cannot apply for the engineering services exam conducted by the upsc because currently you are a diploma holder whereas to give the IES exam, you need to be a graduate from mechanical, civil, electrical or electronics engineering. You have the branch mechanical, that is fine but a graduation degree is also a must

Re: Can I apply for engineering services exam being a diploma holder in mechanical engineering stream?

No diploma holders are not eligible to give Indian Engineering Services exam.

To give this exam, one should have a degree in any one of the following streams.

    Civil Engineering

    Electrical Engineering

    Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

    Mechanical Engineering

Candidate must have attained 21 years of age and must not have attained 30 years of age for general category.

There is Upper age relaxation as follows as per the government norms.

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 33 years for OBC Category.

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 35 years for SC/ST Category.

The minimum age is 21 years and maximum is 40 years for PWD Category.

So, as per the eligibility conditions, if you complete your B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering after your Diploma, you can apply for this exam.

    Hello

You are not eligible for the IES(Indian Engineering Exam). The educational qualification required is a engineering degree in any stream.
After class 10, you become eligible for diploma, then you become eligible for the B.TECH course(3 year course).
After class 10 you become eligible for 10+2,then you become eligible for B.TECH course(4 years course).

Means both the 10+2 and diploma are equivalent to each other and has the same importance, then why did you did the same course again, you wasted your time and precious years, both the 10+2 and diploma are equivalent to each other and has the same importance,it was a waste of time.

Now as you still do not have the engineering degree, you are not applicable for the IES.

    Hello,
Sorry friend but you are not eligible for Engineering Services Examination after completing diploma in Mechanical Engineering since the minimum requirement is graduation and diploma is not considered as a graduate course, So you can do graduation and then you can apply for Engineering Services Examination.

Re: Can I apply for engineering services exam being a diploma holder in mechanical engineering stream?

    Dear Aspirant!
You are not eligible to apply for Indian Engineering Services (I.E.S) examination conducted by UPSC.
Because , you are a diploma holder it is the only basic intermediate livel or 10+3 level even though you ahve completed 12th class.
But required qualification to apply for IES examination is Bachelor' degree in engineering.
So, better to complete Graduation in Mechanical engineering after getting the Degree certificate only you are eligible.
But also you are having age is 20 years only.
To apply for UPSC IES examination, minimum required age is 21 years old and above...

    Good luck

    Hello Friend;

Sorry you are not eligible for UPSC engineering services exam because minimum qualification for that is graduate degree but you have diploma. And another thing is your age because you are in 20 year but for this exam candidate should have 21 years of age.

    Thanks

Re: Can I apply for engineering services exam being a diploma holder in mechanical engineering stream?

Eligibility Criteria To Apply for IES - Indian Engineering Services Exam 2013 :

Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in engineering stream in any one of the following disciplines :

    Civil Engineering
    Electrical Engineering
    Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
    Mechanical Engineering

Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age would be provided only to reserved category candidates as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD and 5 years for Ex-Servicemen category candidates

Dear you have completed a diploma in mechanical engineering after class 12th which does not make your eligible to apply for UPSC IES examination and the another things is that you are only 20 years old so that both eligibilities does not match with the required eligibility criteria so that you are 100% ineligible to apply for this exam and after completing 21 years of age also you can not apply because your educational qualification does not match with the required degree so dear you should go to complete either - BE or B.Tech in any one of the above mentioned streams then apply for this exam and on the basis of your diploma you can not apply for any exam which is conducted by UPSC Board.

Other opportunities for you to make your career in central government departments :

    1. SSC - Junior Engineering Exam 2013 :

Candidate should have passed in class 10th with very good academic record and candidate must posses a diploma in either - civil engineering or mechanical engineering from a recognized university/institute

Age should not be less than 18 years and more than 27 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is mentioned above

Dear if you prepare for GATE Entrance exam and qualify this then you may also get the chance go get job in - BHEL/NTPC/IOCL/ONGC/Etc.

    All the best
