    Dear Friend,

The abbreviation of CDS is Combined Defense Services.

The abbreviation of IAS is Indian Administrative Services.

The acronym for UPSC is Union Public Service Commission.

Let me tell you that you have wrong information regarding with BCA degree holders are not preferable for Civil Services exam.

I give you right information regarding with your query; exactly, BCA degree holders are preferable for Civil Services exam.

Re: Is it true that BCA degree holders are not eligible for UPSC conducted exams like CDS, IAS etc?

    Dear Friend,

I Think you have got a wrong information from anywhere regarding that BCA Holders are not eligible for the UPSC Exams.

As far as i am concerned , BCA Holders are totally eligible to appear in the almost all the UPSC Exams if they fulfill the age criteria.

This is because the minimum educational qualification required for most of the UPSC Exams like the Civil Services Exam , CDS Exam , etc , is graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university.

So , there is not any reason for BCA Holders to be ineligible for the UPSC Exams.

The only case in which BCA Holders or any candidate having graduation degree in Computer Applications is ineligible for the UPSC Exam is that he/she is not fulfill the age limitations criteria.

Otherwise , all other cases favour and reflect only one thing that BCA Holders are completely eligible for the UPSC Examinations.

For Your sake of convenience , here i have mentioned the age limitations of UPSC Exams like CDS , Civil Services Exam.

    * The Age Limit for CDS Exam is 18-24 years as well as no relaxation in upper age is given to any candidate.

    * The Age Limit for Civil Services Exam is :

    a) For General Candidates : 21-30 years

    b) For OBC Candidates : 21-33 years

    c) For SC/ST Candidates : 21-35 years

This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want.

    Hello

NO IT IS NOT TRUE THAT DEGREE BCA IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR CDSE AND CIVIL SERVICES LIKE IAS.
This is utter nonsense theory, that BCA is not applicable for CDSE and civil services.
The educational qualification required to apply for CDSE and civil services is graduation.BCA is certainly a degree ,then there is no pint of discussion.

You better read the notification of CDSE and civil services,to get authentic information.
You can also visit the upsc website
