no dear, sorry to inform you but you are not eligible for ies examination in 2014. since the age limit for obc category is 21 to 33 years
the age limit for all the categories are-
general- 21 to 30
obc- 21 to 33
sc/st- 21 to 35
pd- 21 to 40

IES(Indian Engineering Services)entrance examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year.

This is one of the part of Indian Civil Services.You resolved to appear IES 2014, and your DOB is 20th Aug, 1980.

In 2014 your age will be 34 years.

IES ELIGIBILITY:-

1. An engineering final year student from the branches of Civil/Mechanical/Eletrical/Electronics and communication or having the Graduate dege can apply
for UPSC IES entrance examination.

2.AGE: General: 21-30 years, OBC: 21-33 years,S/c S/T: 21-35 years PWD: 21-40 years.

3.Nationality Indian.

4.Attempts: General 4 attempts, OBC: 7 attempts. S/C S/T: NO limit.

According to eligibility you can not appear UPSC IES as your age did not permit you to attend IES entrance exam, in 2014 your age will be 34 years instead of 33 years.

No you would not be eligible for IES 2014.The maximum age limit for OBC is 33years.You will already be 34 till then.You will not be eligible for Engineering Services or Civil services exam since 2014.The age is counted on 1st january of the year of exam.So on 1-1.2014 you would already be over 33years and hence ineligible.You should not go around with your preparation as of now.All the best for your future.

General Category : 21-30 years
BC Category : 21-33 years
SC/ST Category : 21-35 years

3 years of age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 years of age relaxation forSC/ST candidate.

You comes under BC category then there are no chance for you

as you are preparing for IES examination and and want to take part in the examination in 2014, but for it you must have

to satisfies all the eligibility criteria.


according your date of birth you are you are not eligible for applying in 2014 because as your date of birth is 20/8/1980 so you crosses

already the age limit for obc category ie:-33 years and on 1/1/2014 you will become 33 years,4 month and 12 days old so you are not

eligible for the same .

but only this is not the requirements for the examination there are some other criteria which you have to fulfill to become eligible for

the same, here are the details given to you to increasing your knowledge

see the criteria :-


## eligibility criteria:-


1. the candidate must have an engineering degree in the following branches.

* electrical engineering.

* civil engineering.

* mechanical engineering.

* electronics and telecommunication engineering.

2. the candidate must be an Indian citizen.


## age criteria:-


1. 21-30 years for general category.

2. 21-33 years for obc category.

3. 21-35 years for sc/st category.


##age relaxation:-


* for central govt. employees: 5 years of relaxation.

* for physically handicapped persons:- 10 years.


so i'm feeling very bad to announce that you are not eligible and will not be leigible for any eamination conducted by upsc in future.



so you should prepare for other examinations like banking etc.....

According to your mentioned Date of Birth you will complete - 33 years, 4 months and 12 days of your age as on 01-01-2014 that is required for IES examination 2014 and maximum age limit to apply for Indian Engineering Service Examination 2014 will be 30 years so you have already crossed that age limit but if you claim for upper age relaxation under OBC category then you will get 3 years of upper age relaxation in your age and will be eligible to apply for IES exam till 33 years of age so you can see that you have already crossed 33 years of age despite getting relaxation so we are really very sorry to say that you can not apply IES or IAS or any other examination conducted by UPSC board because of your age limit

There may be a way generated for you that is banking examinations and as you have completed degree in Engineering so you will be eligible to apply for following exams conducted by IBPS board

IBPS CWE Specialist Officer - IT Officer Scale I Examination - Age limits are - 20-35 years

IBPS CWE Specialist Officer - Technical Officer Scale I - Age limits are 20-35 years

You will get relaxation in upper age as you will get in UPSC so will be eligible to apply till 38 years of age in banking exams so once you must try for this examination and get a very good government job in banking sector

I have attached official notification which may help you in applying for examination according to your qualification and you can also apply for IBPS CWE RRB - Regional Rural Bank - Officer Scale II and III examination as per your qualification between - 04-07-2013 to 25-07-2013 at www.ibps.in

Friend, by 2014 you will be of 34 years age and for OBC's age limit for IES is 33 years. You will have to give IES exam tthis year only i.e. in 2013.

I am really sorry to tell you that you can not apply for the IES 2014 exam because at that time you will be of 34 years of age and the requied age for the IES exam for the OBC candidate is 21-33 years.

You can apply for the IES exam 2013.

For this you must have bachelor degree in engineering in Mechanical,Electrical,Electronics & Communication,Civil engineering branches from a recognized university of India.

By the time of 2014, your age would be 34 years of age and if your are more than 33 years of age at the time of filling up the IAS form then you are not elgible for giving the IAS exam as the relaxation is provided of 3 years to the obc candidates and the relaxation ends at the age of 33
