Yes... it's totally sufficient... actually it's more than sufficient.

But, as you are post-graduated in management... there's no problem but you must ensure one thing that you must have read one of the following mentioned subjects while pursuing your bachelor's degree that are animal husbandry,veterinary science ,zoology,physics ,veterinary science,physics ,mathematics ,forestry or degree in agriculture or degree in engineering,statistics etc.

That's the main eligibilty criteria for IFS.

Dear Friend

I think you are asking about the Indian Forest services entrance exam as IFS stands for the both Indian Foreign services which comes under civil services exam as well as Indian Forest services for which UPSC conducts a separate exam though for this year the first stage that is preliminary exam is same for the both Civil services exam and forest services.

The eligibility criteria for the Indian Forest services examination is as :

1.Academic qualification:

>>You must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university .However final year graduation candidates can also apply for the exam.

>>You must ensure one thing that you must have read one of the following mentioned subjects while pursuing your bachelor's degree that are animal husbandry,veterinary science ,zoology,physics ,veterinary science,physics ,mathematics ,forestry or degree in agriculture or degree in engineering,statistics etc.

So as per your query post graduation degree is sufficient to make you eligible for the IFS exam.

2.Age limitations:

>>General candidate:21-30 years with only four attempts for the exam.

>>OBC candidate :21-33 years with seven attempts for the exam

>>SC/ST category candidate :21-35 years with no limit on no of attempts

3.Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

Note: If you are eligible for the exam ,you can apply for the IFS exam at the official website that is www.upsconline.nic.in.The important dates for the IFS 2013 exam are already over .So you need to wait for the next year IFS exam.

Only Graduation degree from a recognized university is valid for IFS exam.

You should have any one of the like, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science /Botany /Chemistry /Geology /Mathematics /Physics /Statistics /Zoology Etc... in Bachelor degree Course.


If you studied any one of the Subject than Definitely applicable for this Examination.

Your age must be attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 year........


Important Dates for IFS exam;-

Last dates for Filling Application is 4th April 2013 which is over.

Preliminary exam date;-26 may 2013

Mains exam is conducted in Sep/Oct month of this year


Vacancy: The number of vacancies to be filled on the results of the examination is expected to be approximately 85

Reservation: Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH categories in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government

dear aspirant,

For Appearing for IFS exam you need graduation with at least one of the subjects Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology,Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from recognized college or university.

There is no need to go for post graduation for applying for IFS exam.

AGE LIMIT FOR IFS EXAM:

>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

I think a post graduate degree is sufficent if you have gained min. 60% marks.
Also you have to eligible for this exam .
But you are a managment student so i think you have to face problem for filling forum .
Because a managment student cann't appare in IFS (Forest) exam.
