To become a Forest Officer you have to apply for IFS(Indian Forest Services) Exam. IFS exam is conducted by UPSC every year for the posts related to forest department.

Candidates must be physically and Mentally fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination,

Running 2.5kms in 15min
push ups - 20
situps -20
rope climbing 3 meters min

Eligibility Criteria for IFS Exam:

>>you must hold a Bachelor�s degree with at least one of the subjects Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology,Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor�s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from recognized college or university.

>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Important dates related to IFS exam in 2013:

For IFS(Prelims)-2013
Date of notification:05/03/2013
Last date of receipt of application:04/04/2013
Date of exam :26/05/2013
For IFS(Mains)-2013
Date of main exam:03/10/2013.

most respectfully, i want to be a forest officer definatly.so pls give me all detail about physical fitness & qualification. at present time i am B.E.(branch-bio-tech)(pursuing-3rd year) so pls guide me
